Such an amazing , friendly and warm place . Food is amazing and great for large groups . Fun to have a dinner with friends and order so many awesome items form the menu . Great hummus , rice plate , falafel and falafel with cheese is a revelation. Don’t skip dessert - epic !

Absolutely stellar food. The hummus is the creamiest, most heavenly I have ever had. Marvelous lamb, fish & the eggplant is magnificent. The cheese filled freshly made falafel are glorious. I couldn't recommend this restaurant more highly. When I go in, the staff are friendly and relaxed. When I order delivery, it arrives hot & in wonderful, earth friendly stainless steel containers from Dispatch Goods. Just the best!

Wonderful place along Piedmont. Food was tasty with a variety and satisfying serving sizes.

Shawarma-Spiced Lamb was great with the rice bowls. Couscous with chicken was also quite good.
A myriad of drinks available.
Plenty of vegetarian options with good hummus.

Outdoor is comfortable, tucked away from the street while still being accessible. Inside is cute.

Great fresh dishes with wonderful outdoor seating. The salads are really impressive with fun and inventive combinations. The house made fruit drinks are delicious. Alcoholic drinks are a bit pricey, but I guess that’s normal for Bay Area these days

10/10 recommend Pomella 🙂 My mom and I were looking for some comfort food after a trip to IKEA! The food was the freshest middle-eastern we have had in CA. Pleasing to the eye, mouth, and heart. Fresh, unique, satisfying salads and saffron rice bowls that make you feel good. We must point out the stuffed falafel and the house made sangria because they were out of this world!!!

We were able to order online for pickup but when we arrived the outdoor dining area was so well spaced, safe, and beautiful with all of its color- we just had to sit down. This is the cleanest and safest I have felt dining out or taking out!

Really great, high-quality food with lots of vegetarian options. We at here with our toddler and they had this really yummy grilled cheese with veggies that was made on their fluffy pita bread. My kid was in heaven!

I returned recently to Pomella at the end of Piedmont avenue in Oakland. In the mood for tagine, I ordered the chicken plate which was served piping hot in a giant bowl of couscous with chunks of carrot added to the mix. Alongside came a mini dish of picante garlicky chermoula sauce. The chicken was tender with just the right amount of seasoning. If I'd eaten this at home, I would have added a drizzle of olive oil & lemon juice to complete it. And yet and yet, it was absolutely delicious. Add-ons like tzatziki or composed salads are also recommended.

There's an outdoor dining patio as well as plenty of seating inside. I love the pop of orange color splashed throughout the eatery. The dangling fairy lights and plants give the interior a sweet vibe. I loved the added touch of reflective Middle Eastern music playing at a reasonable level, and how it expressed the culture of the food’s origins, rather than random music not curated to the environment. Do drop in for a visit and a taste of delicious California Israeli cuisine soon!
