On our way back from San Francisco, we decided to make a stop at Wooly’s in Pismo Beach, and it was a delightful detour. Located right on the Broadwalk, Wooly’s offers stunning views of the beach and pier, making it a prime spot for outdoor dining.

The restaurant is quite popular, so expect long lines and a bit of a wait to secure a table. You place your order first, receive a number, and then find a table—simple and efficient. Despite the crowd, the staff managed to bring our food promptly and with a smile.

We tried a few dishes:
• Sourdough Bread Bowl Clam Chowder: While the chowder was creamy, it leaned a bit too starchy for our liking.
• Caesar Salad: Fresh and crisp but overly salty.
• Steamed Mussels: The highlight of our meal! Cooked with white wine and garlic, the mussels were flavorful and satisfying.

What really made the visit memorable was the setting. Dining outdoors with the sunshine on the beach, even with a touch of wind, was unbeatable. There’s something special about enjoying a meal with the sound of waves and the sea breeze around you.

While the food wasn’t exceptional, the overall experience was worth it. Wooly’s is an excellent spot to enjoy the beach vibe, making it a worthwhile stop for those traveling along the coast.

I would not recommend this place. The location is perfect but I was very disappointed with my food. I spent $3.50 for my fries and they were cold. My wife's fries came out a little bit warmer but not much. My turkey Patty melt was not a Patty melt at all. Patty melts have grilled onions and mushrooms on them. This did not have that. I also feel like the restaurant could have been a little cleaner and the service could have been a little bit more friendly. This was my only lunch out during vacation and it was disappointing

Party of 5 went for lunch on the Sunday before Christmas. Place was packed. Food was okay. It's very windy if you're sitting outside. Napkins kept flying. Bring a sweater. I had the Chicken Caesar salad which was alright.

Ordered sweet potato fries, carnitas tacos and seasonal hot chocolate cocktail. Fries were really good! Tacos were on the smaller side. The restaurant was packed during sunset.
You order food at the counter and the server gets it to your table. Drinks can be ordered at the bar. With drinks the cost would go up to 30-50 per person.

My husband and I love coming here when Pismo has clear weather. Nothing is better than a beer at the beach with a burger!

We always love all the food we get here. It’s a super chill vibe. We’re go there to work on our laptops all the time 😆

Came from out of town and wanted something close to the water with a view and good ratings.
Food was great with large portions. Fresh made clam chowder was delicious. My lady loved the Baja Fish tacos. They weren’t greasy or oily, had a nice flakey batter and all the right flavors. Both of us couldn’t eat the entire meal.
Draft and bottle beer selections feature a lot of local/regional options.
View on the patio looked down the long pier, with surfers and sea life arounds.
Everything was clean and smelled good.
Staff was prompt. You order food at the counter and then sit where you want. They bring the food out.
Parking was abundant for a Saturday morning. $5/hour (city managed)
Very casual and laid back atmosphere.
Super happy we ended up here.

This casual, dog-friendly restaurant offers an unbeatable combination of outdoor dining with an ocean view, a full bar, and a menu that caters to all tastes. And, as a bonus, it's super dog-friendly – so bring your furbaby!
The first thing that struck me was the atmosphere. The outdoor seating area is spacious and well-maintained, with comfortable benches and tables scattered about. The views of the ocean are simply stunning, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal with friends or family.
Now, onto the food - oh boy! We shared the steamed clams and grilled chicken club sandwich. The steamed clams were cooked to perfection, flavorful, and paired well with a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkle of parsley. The grilled chicken club was equally impressive, with juicy chicken breast, crispy bacon, avocado, and melted cheddar cheese all held together by a soft bun. The waffle fries were to die for, crispy and served hot!
If you're looking for a casual dining experience with a side of stunning ocean views and a relaxed atmosphere, look no further than Wooly's. Just be prepared to wait a bit since you have to order at the counter, they give you a number and grab a seat - it's first come, first served! Don't forget to bring your pup along - they're welcome!
*Missing star – the service at the counter could’ve moved faster, no sense of urgency from the staff.

Great dog friendly area complete with water bowls. Patio has nice tall plexiglass surrounding it to keep the winds at bay.

Food was quite good. Adult beverages have to be purchased separately from the bar… wish that wasn’t the case but it’s not that big of a deal.
