Horrible customer service in the warehouse. One of the advantages of woodworkers source is to be able to comb through the stacks of lumber to get the right piece of lumber. You pay a little bit more for this, but worth it in the end to get the right piece of lumber, The general rule is to dig through the piles and return the piles to the best you can to how you found it. Not that easy as the top layer of wood is always the lumber no one wants. Too bad the staff (one person in particular) in the warehouse verbally abuse customers for not returning the stacks to the original “Pristine” level. This has happened to me multiple time. Almost to the level that I feel I am being singled out as I enter the warehouse. Just tired of getting yelled at for “messing up” the stacks of lumber up. I try my best to return the stacks to their original condition. Tempe site is more forgiving. Phoenix site has always had an attitude. Even though that Tempe Site is 10 miles further for me, I try to go there if I have the extra time to not get the phoenix site attitude.

I've been a customer at this location since 2005-2006.
My first time visiting the store was in 2005, I only browsed and looked around.  My first purchase was in 2006, and I did not become a Rosewood Club Member until much later...

I mostly disagree with many of the "low-disgruntled" reviews (which has prompted me to write this review.)

I'm not a "pro", spending in excess of $20-80K monthly or annually, I'm an occasional "garage amateur." Yet, being self-employed, I know the long-term constant changes, as well as the dynamics and challenges of business acumen.

Woodworking and retail shops can be intimidating or frustrating for some; amateur or "pro" alike. Anyone claiming otherwise isn't being realistic or truthful. Whatever gets you through the day...

EVERY TIME I've visited the Woodworker's Source (from the first day, to present) I have been treated the way I'd expect a customer to be received; with due respect and decency... EVERY SINGLE TIME.  In my opinion, they strive to assist and help.
Yet, realistically, no one can satisfy every possible assumption and expectation.

Yes, I've had to wait sometimes...
Yes, the price of lumber is dramatically increasing.
Yes, some Brand name equipment (parts) and costs certainly aren't what they used to be.
Yes, even degrees of "uncertainty."
It's all part of it...

Through it all, a bit of humor (and humility) sprinkled with a bit of understanding goes a long way. It certainly doesn't hurt like some of those pesky wood splinters...

About the milling:
Periodically, I use their services and it's always good, expensive anymore, but good.

Photos of a few latest projects.  The wood materials were all sourced at the Woodworkers Source, from the $1.99 per LB. assorted Scrap-Bins. A great selection of (dreamy) power tools are also available.

This place is amazing!!!! Normaly when your a younger carpenter or just starting in woodworking the older guys can be rude. That is NOT the case here everyone is so nice and helpful! I go to this store every single week on Fridays to check out the bargin bins and pick up supplies for my next cutting board project. They have an amazing selection and im going to try and preview there items more on my social media more. Something to remember these guys aren't homedepot that has low quality at a low price. Pay the tiny but extra and get the higher quality!

Been here multiple times and they always seem to have a good quality selection of hard woods. It's a very clean facility and the service is always good! I'd suggest you visit for all your wood needs.

Great customer service - visited last week from out of state. Went primarily for fun, but asked if they could let me pick boards and ship them. It wasn't the normal process, but they made it happen! It's great to see "solution-oriented" responses when you bring a unique request. Shout out to Rob, he's the man.

I went here for the first time this week and had nothing but a positive experience! Had only been to big box stores like home depot for lumber before, but these workers here explained and repeated all the information I needed to purchase the materials I needed! There is a charge for cutting precise cuts, just like anywhere, but they did them for me quickly! Would recommend going here whether you're experienced in buying wood or just looking for some higher quality hardwood!
