My one and only meat, sauce, spices, and unique foods location. The crew is top notch and the quality is unmatched. Definitely nothing beats here. Highly recommend signing up to be a member for free and get daily hookups with meat and side bundles.

I broke up with vegetarianism for health reasons and wanted to find a local butcher to support for ethical reasons. I met with one of the employees first and asked a bunch of questions, and he was kind, patient, and super knowledgeable. All of their employees have been friendly and helpful each time I shop here. The quality of this place is unmatched! You can definitely taste the difference, it reminds me of my home country where all the food is local and free from all these modern toxins. After supporting this business for several months, I once went to Publix for the convenience and bought their “organic grass fed beef,” which I had to throw away because I couldn’t stomach the lower quality (this was on two separate occasions). Once you start eating higher quality foods it’s really hard to go back. I definitely recommend Southern Steer. They have daily specials and discounts, and you just really can’t beat their level of quality.

We have made the switch from big box stores to more local small businesses in the last year. Southern Steer is one of my favorite switches that we have implemented. We go every week, the quality of the products and meats are so much better in taste and texture and the price is comparable so it doesn't cost us more money. Besides the meat products, every single thing we've tried from spice mixes, to sauces, to salsa, to sides, the drinks, the pasta sauce, and the gem and my favorite part THE DESSERTS. They always have a variety of candy and treats however if Sherry has made her Banana Rice Crispy Treats you better grab 3! Absolutely amazing place to shop, everyone is nice and helpful and take their time with your questions, and honestly not having to fight the vibes in some of the big box stores that alone is worth the mental health benefits of shopping local. 10 out of 10 recommend

Absolutely amazing Company and products. The way the employees reach out to help and educate the customers, was above and beyond. Now too the meat... Went in for 1 thing, left left with 6. Absolutely wonderful flavor and cuts. Heading there again on Saturday to get "1" more thing. Love these guys, love this place. Next is the classes and sides.

So excited to find a real butcher in St. Pete! We bought a prime rib and a pork roast and they each were so tender and full of flavor. I couldn’t believe the difference compared to a food store. We’re from Philly suburbs where there are several local butchers and we missed that until we found this place. Prices are reasonable and they have great daily specials. We also bought the snack pack which included wings. We bought the buffalo wings and cooked them at home. Tasted like they came from a restaurant and we cooked them in the oven. This is our new meat market for all our needs.

First time customers today and my husband and I were both impressed by the cleanliness of the shop. Everyone working there offered to help us, but the brunette woman was a gem! She was so patient and kind, telling us about upcoming specials and what was what with all the different meats. Cooked the brats today and the flavor was amazing. Can’t wait to try the other things we bought.

PSA: Don't hesitate to sign up to the rewards program and forget buying meat, seasonings, jams, sauces, and sides from anywhere else but here. Also keep in mind, better food better health! It's worth the money spent on quality products and you are supporting a mom and pop shop instead of a greedy corporate store. This is my go to spot, I go a minimum 2 times a month (probably more as the crew here is top notch and I can just talk about food all day) and buy a couple bundles. I love this place so much this is another 5 star review from my other account.
