The corporate greed that runs through this company, is ridiculous. I've NEVER had a bill be sooooo HIGH. EVER. And I've lived in arizona, I've lived in oregon, I've lived in Colorado, etc. This is by far the worst company yet. So because there was a rare winter storm, you're going to take advantage and charge people out the a$$ for it? Shame on you guys! How is anyone able to pay this absurd insane amounts that you have charged us?! Shame on you!

We absolutely love South Alabama Electric Cooperative. Not only has our bill always been reasonable, especially in comparison to friends and families bills who live in North Alabama, and our under Alabama power, but the customer service here is unreal.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 7th, our power cut off. It was 1:15 am and everything shut off. It had been raining all day, but no thunder or lightning, so we were puzzled. My husband got in his truck, as I stayed home with our two very small children, and he went to observe who all had lost power.

He uncovered that it was only us. When I checked on the website, I noticed that South Alabama Electric Cooperative had already accounted for our outage… I didn’t even have to call in.

My husband and I started to worry, as we just assumed that because we were the only house without power that we probably wouldn’t receive service for at least several hours or maybe even until Monday. We were worried about the $400 worth of groceries that we had just put in the fridge, and the fact that our freezer is full of pumped milk as we currently have a newborn at home…

However, to our pleasant surprise, a South Alabama Electric truck pulled up to our house within half an hour.

The gentleman was so kind, and told my husband that he felt like he knew exactly what was going on because of the rain that had set in all day.

Sure enough, within about 15 minutes of his arrival, all the power was back on in the house. Our children were able to go back to sleep in a comfortable house, none of ourgroceries spoiled, and none of our milk unthawed in the freezer. We cannot thank them enough for how quick and efficient they were in servicing our home.

These guys work their butts off from the moment they get a call until it’s finished. There are also staff you don’t see working in the background who dispatch calls that spend just as much time away from their families when the lights go out. They all have my praise. I wouldn’t want to do such a dangerous job in such a environment. I love everything they do. Stay safe guys and girls!

I think the guys are awesome! They risk their lives in the pouring rain and storms to make sure we have electricity to be comfortable while they are in danger and away from their families. Thank you for all your hard work and for risking your lives so I have power! You'll are my heroes!

My original estimate on the phone was 250.00, final bill 950.00. It took them seven hours to run three lines with a 120 plug, and hang two spotlights all within 30 feet of breaker box. Good work...way too expensive due to slow work.

Insanely expensive/ power goes out at my address all the time/ unhelpful when you call/ stuck with them with no other options. I moved to a cheaper place because I lost my job and the power bill is so insane that I’m paying more here than I was at a house in which the rent was 300 dollars more... This company is borderline criminal.
