Worse visually than when you actually are there in person. I arrived on 5/8/24 @ 9:27am. Was greeted at the corner of 31st St and Ave B in Ensley, AL. Cory met me on his forklift and gave me instructions on where to go and park. Got put up to main Loading Dock beside Driver Check-In office @ main entrance, look for “De Carlo” up over office door.
Was live loaded by a 1st day employee and he did a very good job even after getting stuck a couple times I was told. It took a little longer than other places, but he was gentle and I especially appreciated that.
All these people do is receive and ship pool salt and it is on the heavy side. I came for 22 pallets which filled my 53’ dry van. Seems GPS sends drivers into other parts of the neighborhood(I use google maps on my smart phone and garmin w/ truck routing). I came in via I-65 north to I-20 west to exit 119B(Avenue E). Turn right off ramp and follow to 31st St.. Make left turn and follow straight to end(There will be a number of stop signs). Seemed google maps was more accurate getting to this facility.
When you get to Ave B you’ll see the Whse like what’s in the pic if you googled business or put in address. For the loaded flat bedders, there’s an open parking lot straight across Ave B to the right of Whse.. Enter there to take off tarps and straps(pre-stage for unload). After that’s done move to open parking lot across Ave B from Whse to be unloaded.
More than likely Cory will be there on his forklift like a watch dog to help guide you through.
They also load and unload dry van trailers outside along Ave B using large metal ramps . I did not receive a seal to seal trailer after loading, but did install one of my own and locked with paddle-lock.
No bathroom was visible, may be able to use one if you asked.? Folks are very hospitable and polite. All workers were professional and hard working. I would say no overnighting would be recommended, it is next to a residential area and a little rough looking in places. I checked out and on the road @ 10:55am.
