Just received my knife from PRO-TECH. I’m very impressed with the quality, workmanship and weight of the knife. I’m not so certain about its functionality. The release isn’t very smooth nor easy to deploy. There is an immediate click but no release. You have to reposition your finger and press harder to get the blade out. Maybe I just need to get accustomed to how this knife works. I’ll follow up later.

I received an immediate response from PRO-TECH and I now completely understand why I experienced what I did with my knife. I would give PRO-TECH a 10 if I could. I look forward to many years with this knife and probably other purchases from them.

There is nothing like the sound and feel of a Protech automatic firing in my hand. My favorite is my Mirrors and Pearls Godson. Beautiful mother of pearl handle and highly polished blade. Not only is an awesome knife, but it's a work of art. I spend my spare time holding it ip to the light and watching it flip colors. Green and pink MOP and that blade looks like chrome! I have a couple Dons, a Godfather tux, and a TR4-70 with a sterling silver skull on the handle. They are as well built as they are great looking.

Let me just say, I have been collecting knives since I was young, so when I finally grew up and had big-boy money, I went searching for the best. Pro-Tech has given me that experience in every category. You can find anecdotes about the build quality, materials, and swift-actions all over the internet, so I won’t cover that here. What I really want to highlight is the level of customer service and, for lack of better word, community I feel being a customer. I broke my Malibu, my favorite knife, being an idiot so I reached out to customer service. Not only did they take care of me by shipping the replacement piece along (see photo) with extra’s out to me free of charge, but Derek, the Customer Service & Social Media Extraordinaire, sent me multiple follow-up emails with insightful tips and tricks for the repair. Top notch customer service that I have not experienced anywhere in my life, not even from Sweetwater (ask a musician). To add to the note of customer service and community: I met Dave and Matt at NYCKS and they remembered me and we had a great conversation when I saw them subsequently at Blade Show. Moreover, I brought my girlfriend and she really enjoyed her time browsing with Jennifer, who even pointed us towards a dealer who could help us find my girl’s grail knife! If only we had more money we would have picked her up that Tiffany Runt. To the Pro-Tech Team: You have a customer for life, and one of these days when I finally get married I want to get all of my groomsmen customs, so I hope I can give you that call soon!

Was never much into the ~expensive side of knives until I got a Godson. The craftsmanship and design of this knife are superb. It quickly became and will stay as part of my daily carry. Soon, I'll have one for each day of thr week.

What you might not know, is this business is about much more than knives. With excellent customer service, continual support of military and first responders, and just solid down to earth people, Pro-Tech gets my vote every time.

Unmatched customer service and high quality products. I've dealt with customer service from bigger knife companies and they made me feel like I was an inconvenience. I worked with Derek to resolve an issue I brought in myself and he went above and beyond my expectations. They have earned a customer for life. And with the "litigating" going on with a certain knife company owner in NC iykyk, I don't think I'll be looking anywhere else for American made CA legal autos.

Terrible customer service and owner Dave does nothing to help customers that have problems with his products. If you expect a good product and to be helped if there is any issues do not buy Protech .

update : first quote is exactly word for word my first email. second quote is exactly the second email i replied with, derek clearly lied to you and you just believe what ever he said without caring to actually see my emails.

First email - "My brand new blue textured handle with magnacut wharncliffe blade Malibu i recieved yesterday afternoons button lock sticks a bit when I open with the flipper tab. Is this normal because if it is the quality I was expecting is way way below par and is this covered for any warrenty work to have the button replaced or maybe it is the notch in the blade being out of tolerance or something...? It is my first pro tech so personally I have no clue if your other knives with a button lock feel almost sticky when trying to push the button after opening with the flipper tab. Seems a bit wrong if you ask me. Please let me know how to go about handling this. As i said this was out of the box yesterday at 12pm est and the first thing i noticed was this button being sticky or catching on the notch of blade.

"thats strange since ive had 40 dollar button locks up to 300+ dollar ones and this is the only one thats ever stuck this way. terrible product and will be sure to let everyone know in forums how trash this service is"

After looking back at the emails NOT ONCE did I use unsavory language . fact is I spent nearly 300 dollars on a knife with an absurd amount of lock stick and after multiple days of fidgeting with it there was no change at all. Not sure why you are either lying about how i responded or did not actually see the real email conversation but either way those are copy and pasted from the email of my first and second response. All I wanted was to be told " sorry troy please send it to us and pay the shipping and small handling fee and we will check it out then either fix or replace it if it is as bad as you are saying." Instead i was told there was nothing you guys could do and to fidget with it longer. honestly this is hilarious at this point since i have every email i sent and still have them all and apparently you think those two emails are profanity laced. Just shows my review is 100% reasonable and accurate .
