Terrible communication and terrible company. They moved me November 2024 down 1 block to a new complex. Movers were fine, not very quick, but we’re able to get the job done. I helped them move everything and we were still at the top of the estimate, even a little over. Whatever, I just wanted and needed it done. My 85” Samsung TV was placed in a box that I had rented through them and when I went to hang the TV on the wall, it wouldn’t turn on. It’s a $1,600 TV. I had a TV repair person come out ($85) and they examined it, took pictures and said the reason the screen won’t come on is because it’s cracked. I reached out to Power Moves, explained what happened and they told me their insurance is through a 3rd party and I needed to fill out the form as I was still in the 30 day window. So I send it in, with the estimate from the repair person, and the pictures he took. I finally hear back December 27th and they asked if I could provide a picture of the cracked screen. I told them I couldn’t even get the TV to turn on and per the repair person, it won’t turn on but if they needed any other information, he would be happy to provide it. Well after 2-3 more calls to them with no answer and 1 time being told “I’ll have them call you when they’re back in the office” I send an email and get a call back saying that my claim was denied (1.5 months later) because I can’t show them the crack. I told them you can see the damage on the corner in the pictures from the repair person but the TV won’t turn on. I’m then told either way i didn’t purchase insurance so the most I would be getting back was $54. I told the lady I was never offered insurance and her response was “we offer it to everyone because it’s a button we have to click”. I again tell her it wasn’t in the estimate and not offered. She told me it’s in their FAQ’s online (it’s not). I looked through all the emails and the document I signed and nothing about insurance is listed. After reading the terms on their website, it states “Unless otherwise specified, customer expressly releases the shipment to a declared value of $0.60 per pound per article, and shall continue during and all services rendered. Rates for increase valuation are available upon request.” So are these insurance rates offered to costumers or available upon request Will never use this company again.

Dylan and Mike were wonderful. They did an amazing job wrapping all of my delicate items and even though we had more than one stop, they were very patient and made me feel very comfortable with handling my items. I will definitely be using this company again, Thank you so much for making my move so easy.

UPDATE: Chyna reached out to me and apologized for the experience. She said they are under new management now and are doing their best to make their customers happy. Issued me a 100$ credit for the damages.

Very bad experience.
They were supposed to start between 8-9am. I’ve got a call at 8.30am saying they will not come on time and I should expect them between 1-3pm.
When they came, they were in a rush, did not pack the furniture properly. No blankets over wooden furniture, just several layers of plastic wrap which was way too thin to protect the furniture. The white book shelf was not packed at all which left it with black scratches on all sides. Coffee table was broken.
In addition, movers forgot to unload my mirrors. I noticed it only after they left. Emailed/called the office, never heard back from them.

UPDATE:

Chyna was able to provide a $180 credit towards the damaged 75”Tv which I appreciate. I changed from 1 star to 4 star. I removed both lines of reference that I would not recommend this company. I always try to work with small businesses if they offer a fair price. Thank you again Chyna for your help in resolving this issue.

Quoted for a 2.5 hour move, was 4.5 hrs. No verbal quote on the $99 gas fee although listed on the quote which I signed and didn’t realize it was there until I received the total due. I wasn’t as attention to detail as I took Ciara for her word. I did not get full coverage insurance as I have moved many times without incident. My 75” tv is damaged and I paid $24 extra to rent a box to transport. Spoke to another lady just now which said being it was boxed there is no way to determine who caused the break. It has been sitting in place where the movers placed it.
The 2 movers were pleasant and professional with their interactions. The lady said it was such a small move she would ask but doubted they would be able to do anything on their own. I just read through some reviews and see where one is advising they were not told of the $90 charge verbally and another where someone purchased full coverage insurance and were having a hard time collecting on a claim due to Elite.

Richard and John Louie were so great! Very polite, thorough, careful, and hard working. They took care of everything and made my moving experience stress free. Power moves offered me the best price and worked around my schedule. I called so many places and I’m so happy I chose power moves. I 100% will be using them again and recommend them to anyone who need movers/packing!

Leon and Tyrone are as good as it gets… they really treated our stuff as it were theirs…. Do not waste time looking elsewhere for any move… Elite Power Movers is the best… showed up on time and moved quickly and carefully… they are local and treat you like a neighbor!

Power moves will give you a quote,but they won't tell you they will charge you additional hours because of incompetent workers. Or you will be charged additional time because they can't find your address. They quoted me a price of 1150.00 to 1250.00. This was 2 hrs to load a truck from a storage unit. 4 hrs travel time from storage unit to unload destination. I found this to be acceptable. So I agreed and paid my 50 dollar deposit. The day came, and the 2-man crew showed up. Very nice gentleman,but there is no urgency at all. I sent Chyna Craft a picture of the storage unit so they knew what was there. Told them it was a 10x20 unit. My wife called me me and said these young me are slow. What was quoted as 2 hrs to load turned into 3 and 1/2 hours. Now they had a 4 hour trip to get to their destination. They started loading at 10:30 am. At 1:30 pm my wife sent me a text saying they were on their way. I'm thinking they should be here by 5:30. At 6:30 get a call from the driver saying he is lost. I tried to get his location,but with bad cell service,it was hard. I went out and tried to locate them and finally did. At 7:30 I find them and escort them to my property. They unloaded my property,which I had some questions as how they loaded it. Like loading my generator upside down where the oil is now trapped in the head,whites to be addressed. Or I had a bench with drawers that had items in the drawers. They decided to load it in the truck on its side, which caused all them items in the drawer to come falling out. So all is unloaded and I ask what do I owe you. They told me 1780.00. I said no way. My estimate was 1150 to 1250. I gave them the 1250 as I was quoted. I then get a phone call saying either pay the 1780 or got to collections. I said let's split the difference and was told ok. Che ked my credit card and they charged me the full sum.
Stay Away.
They then called me and said they would refund me the difference if I removed my review. I said no way.
I have since received 2 phone calls offering compensation if I remove my review.

I refused to remove my review so people would know how incompetent they are in handling furniture. Nothing was wrapped or protected. All of my bedroom furniture has scratches and scrape marks.
I was in constant communication with the driver. I even had to go and find them. If they were willing to work with me. It should have been during our first phone call the night of the delivery.
