Robert is a seriously standup guy. Not only did he tell me my heads were cracked, but he gave me a TON of free advice on dialing in the new ones. He didn’t benefit from either of these things (he doesn’t sell heads), but he was willing to take time out of his day for someone who really needed help. Robert, thanks man. I really appreciate you.

I recently purchased an electric bike from out of state. A couple of screws were broken during shipping. These screws elevated the back end of the bike (fender and rack). I was going to have to send the entire bike back for a replacement which would have taken nearly a month. A local bike shop could not “machine out” the broken screws. Robert, from Powell’s Machine Shop agreed to take a look at the bike. He was able to fix the bike and it looks fantastic. The work was done in one day and I took my bike out for a ride the same day! I sent a photo of the work that needed to be done and Powell did a fantastic job and gave me a price right away. Turn around time was 1 day and the cylinder head came out beautifully. I will be returning to him again soon.

Took a small block 350 Chevy to get bored 30 over when I picked it up the block was filthy he told me I needed to clean it because his water was off. So when I brought it home to clean it I found that a main bearing had spun. So as a Machinist it would seam that you would check all these things before you proceed with machine work. I told him I need to see if the block can be line board if it can't be all your machine work is for nothing and the block is junk and he should of known. He changed me $520 cash no receipt laughed told me he wouldn't stand by it and I could take him to the bar if I wanted to.i told him I would take him to small claims court and he laughed rolled his door shut! I have dealt with him before and he messed something up but he fixed it. People trying to build there dreams beware. He could be your night mare just want to share beware

Robert powell does great work, easy to talk to , humble guy . He does excellent machining work . On the spot quote, compared to other places “I have to talk to my boss about it , after he shows up someday” Took my 47re flexplate To Powell’s Machine to get redrilled , center pilot enlarged and Flat machined for my v10 , turned out great ! turnaround was just 2 days! I f you need engine parts custom machined , rebuilt , take it to this guy. His prices blew me away! I will most certainly take all my engine parts , heads , blocks , or anything else that needs precision machining To him and will recommend Powell’s Machine Shop to everyone!

Amazing guy. A little rough around the edges but amazing work. He took care of my head. Blew a gasket on the way up the hill and called him next day. He was happy to take a look. Took care of my head for me and explained some other things he saw that I didn't even realize. Would definitely recommend him.
