Overpriced? Yes.

Convenient? Yes!

A few times a year, we visit Pine/Strawberry from the Valley to stay at one of the many lovely cabins in the area. We ALWAYS bring our own food for the trip. We ALWAYS seem to need something and end up stopping in at this cute little market in town. The cashiers are super helpful, welcoming, and kind. Small town charm at its finest.

It appears that Lane was acting manager while we visited and he is just incredible. Along with the super sweet lady at the cashier that I regret forgetting her name. I set up a scavenger hunt for my kids and called this store to see if they would help had my kids a clue.
Lane not only was the nicest about it, but when my clue never came In the mail, he had his mom help type it up into the cutest format. I mean, just think about the thoughtfulness and effort in this annoying request alone. Not only in this but the way he interacted with customers and managed the store says he should just go ahead and own his own store. Thank you so much to you both.

Neal & Sumita have renovated and modernized the market to make it easier to navigate, and easier to pick and see the freshest produce! The deli is back in business and has great fresh food and longer hours, so it's far more convenient. Whether you just need a quick grab & go or a full stock up, the selection is greatly improved and the staff are really welcoming.

Super helpful staff! I was in the area for a couple days to go to Fossil Creek. I had forgotten to print my pass and stopped here to see if they could help me by printing my pass. They were happy to help. That evening after the hike we stopped in to grab some groceries. A storm had just rolled through and knocked out the power. The staff walked me around the store in the dark and helped me find everything I needed.

If you like paying $11.79 for a box of Corn Flakes or Corn Pops this is the place for you. I am floored someone thinks this price point is reasonable and appropriate. I get charging somewhat higher prices for the convenience but most items I looked at are 2-3 times Payson prices. I feel bad for locals who may not be able to shop alternatives. Do yourself a huge favor and bring groceries for your stay in Pine.

They had regular groceries, high end items, and homemade food in a deli/take-out area. We got a few essentials as well as some chicken strips, homemade potato salad (very good), and smoked ribs. Had a picnic in the woods during a day trip. Store was a nice find. Employees were very personable as well.

This is an awesome small town store with a surprising variety of products! The staff is warm, friendly and accommodating to even a couple of weary old backpackers! Good on ya Ponderosa Market.

P.S. I can’t wait for the new deli to open later in May!

WARNING!!! PRICE GOUGHING
Only Grocery Store In Town. They buy wholesale just like any stores. Yet prices are all doubled and some triple the price of Walmart that's 15 miles away. Can understand a 25 percent mark up. Look for expiration dates!! Especially on meats. There are alot of tourists that come through town . What about the locals? Give us a break, STOP ?
Taking advantage of us. Your profits are extreme . I'm going to check if Ariz has price gouging laws. Here is the bottom line. Even if everything in store was perfect and has a great friendly staff. Doesn't give them the right to go high price crazy. I have traveled through a lot of small towns. Never seen anything like this. Advise to the owner, bring your prices down to locals. There are ways of doing this . Business might be great now, don't take advantage of this. Word is really starting to get around.
