If I could leave 0 out of 5 stars, I would. I don’t even know where to begin. Firstly, Desiree was entirely unprofessional throughout our entire professional relationship. Secondly, I was paid late due to her being on vacation and having no access to wifi (unacceptable given the nature of her work). Thirdly, my tenants had reached out to me regarding 3 months of landscaping services (which I was charged for) not being rendered and when I brought it up to Desiree, I was to figure it out myself and then given irrelevant information about my tenant as if that was to absolve her of responsibility. Fourthly, when communicating with Desiree about my tenant’s complaints, I was told that she was not going to handle it and that it was up to me to inquire about the legitimacy of the complaints (so why hire her if she expects you to do her job for her). Fifthly, she considers “drive by’s” as checking on the property which was news to me when I found out my tenant’s fire alarms were not in place or operable. Lastly, I needed to hire a lawyer when I fired her to rectify the discrepancies to which she reimbursed me for all of the months in which landscaping services were not rendered (despite stating she would not reimburse me or inquire whether they had been rendered) and remained unpleasant for the duration of those interactions. Had she just reimbursed the landscaping fees (as she ultimately did) I would have left it at that but instead she insulted my intelligence, fabricated “violations” of our agreement that were not listed in our contract and are protected by California state law, and was ultimately bitter and hostile through what should have been professional interactions.

I do not recommend her. Save your money. I statistically projected long term expenses against other property managers and she remained the most expensive even when considering tenant placement fees.

Our family has used Plumas Lake Properties for the purchasing of three homes, and the sale of two. Desiree and her team are extremely knowledgeable and organized, always making sure that timelines are adhered to. She is an excellent agent, and stuck with us through a long, frustrating (fault of the other party/agent) escrow in 2019. She really knows the ins and outs of the Yuba County real estate market and I often see her properties sell for $10k or more than those listed by non-local agents. I recommend her to anyone in the area looking for support in real estate. Desiree is the real deal!
