Upon the evening pier, under the watchful eye of the moon—perhaps in its fullness—
The ocean lay still, its vastness quieted by silver light.
A soft breeze whispered of peace, of ages before and those yet to come.
Here, in this fleeting moment, serenity settled like dust.

We returned in morning light, where the shore stretched wide,
Seashells scattered like echoes of life, reminders of time and tide.
Massive rocks stood steadfast, guardians of the coast,
Witnesses to waves that come and go, as all things must.

An acai bowl in hand, we tasted simplicity itself.
Pismo’s beauty asks for little; it merely waits—
A patient, timeless shore, undisturbed, inviting all who pass
To pause, to breathe, to remember.

We love going back to Pismo Beach any chance we get. I grew up in Shell Beach in the 60s. What a great time to live in this sleepy little town. I'd love to catch up with anyone who lived there during that time.

This is the first time we were visiting Pismo beach. Parking certainly is an issue as most of the street parking is occupied by hotel guests. The beach itself is very nice and clean. Not as busy as Santa Cruz boardwalk. If you are unsure about parking, park at the Grover beach parking area but then you will have to walk for 1.5 miles through the beach or trail which is not that bad.

Pismo Beach is a fun place to visit with all the delicious foods, activities, and shopping. We are spending a day or two here while camping in Morro Bay. The town has many good restaurants and stores we like to visit. They have a not very impressive outlet mall we can spend some time there too.

One of the coolest experiences in a while. I don’t know of anywhere’s else in California that lets you drive on the beach. Bring your 4wd and you’ll have some fun. Speed limit is 15mph. It’s only $5 at the state park entrance.
