A pretty AWE-some old school hardware store, plenty of hands on hardware, tools and lumber. Yeah they don't have the volume to go head to head with the big box down the street but make up for it in service. They have a great nursery and gift store on site dressed up really nice for the holidays. It's been there a long time, I'm hoping for many more years

I love Pierson's so much.

My husband and I are bungling our way through a fixer-upper house and the amount of times I've walked into Pierson's with either a half-formed idea, or a rough set of directions and a supply list I gleaned from a YouTube tutorial and had an employee not only let me talk through what I was hoping to attempt, but also send me on my way with some great tips and the correct products - it's fantastic.

Yes, their prices are a slightly higher than chain stores (it's really less than a dollar more for most low-ticket items) and they don't always have the selection that you'd find online or at a bigger store. However, the service more than makes up for it and they'll continue to be my first choice in hardware stores!

They own the parking lot at the safeway in Mck. I had a bad fall over the wheel stop in the handicap zone. I emailed them and they NEVER responded. Just ignored the fact that bad lighting and chipped and dull paint ie a HAZARD. Piersons clearly doesn't care about hazards on property they own. Just remove it before you make someone handicap in the handicap zone. I had to get hip and back x-rays and took over 7 weeks to even walk normal.

Even though they aren't known for their large amounts of discounts, most of the crew are friendly and helpful creatures. You can get almost everything you need for your project in 1place and the establishment is pet friendly. Of course it probably depends on what kind of pet you have. I have not tried wild animals over 130lbs😁

Paid for something, came back in for another item, got accused of shoplifting because check out girl more interested in arts and crafts and didn't bother to bag my item. Fortunately I had insisted on a paper receipt or my day could have gone very wrong for ten bucks. Less arts and crafts and more attention to work would be beneficial.

I LOVE Pierson’s for both hardware and garden and I love their seasonal Christmas store. I am proud to support a local business. I would give them 5 stars but I have encountered far too many cranky employees (especially in the garden center) for that extra star. I’m going to be honest, when I’m approached by employees in the garden store, I feel like they are begrudgingly asking if I need help. Are they understaffed? Poorly trained? Maybe too many cranky customers? Whatever it is, it kind of ruins the experience sometimes. I would also LOVE to see their native plant section grow.

Worst customer service in Humboldt! Some of the employees, including the managers, are among the most incompetent, unscrupulous, and unethical individuals we've ever encountered. We'll never do business with Piersons again. Not that they or the owner cares.
