Purchased 8 PGT windows in 2012, including two casements. These windows do not see a lot of wear and tear as they are not opened and closed much. I am now having the following problems. Four of the windows have had the seals fail and cause condensation on inside of glass during colder weather. PGT is replacing the glass, to their credit, but of course labor is $800. The more disappointing problem is that the hinges on the casement have rusted away. They apparently use some pretty poor metal in the hinges. Even thought the warranty says it covers the moving parts, corrosion is excluded. Not only that, but they do not support the product and cannot provide the replacement hinge. They basically told me I was on my own and gave me a website to reach out to to order the hinge. The worst customer support I have ever experienced.

Buyer Beware! MY PGT impact windows are starting to delaminate (see photo) and I'm told ... too bad - the warranty has expired. Do your due diligence when shopping as I'm sure there are much better warranties available from other window companies

Definitely would not recommend. Window gaskets fallout and representative says don’t worry about it. They tell me this is normal I said why would the windows be produced with an outer gasket and not be needed. They do not back up their products, after charging crazy prices for windows.

Update again- 2nd set of panels installed, but one has defect in glass, still waiting on replacement. 1/2 of a new slider track installed, new 1/2 leaving graphit, February will be 2 years and still not completed. Update- Installer for our PGT windows, Storm Solutions, came to adjust our slider and not repair track or replace defective panel. They told us that repairing track would involve cutting out stucco and them being here all day, they then left to report issues to office leaving same issues and now the bumper on rear slider half off. We now have initial install and 3 trips after with no resolution and the suggestion that a repair will be long and messy. Does no one stand behind products and install? One year after install and we are still waiting for 8’ slider panel to be replaced that has a run in the coating between the double pain glass panels . The track on this slider has been leaving heavy graphite that has to be cleaned daily. Very disappointing from a company that has been the leading manufacturer for windows in southwest Florida. Why does increased volume always lead to decreased quality?

Horrendous customer service and company. If you build with canopy builders, negotiate PGT out of the contact as it’s become extremely frustrating following up with them as to when we’re going to get our sliders replaced They delivered cracked and scratched sliding doors in July 2023 before they even got installed. We told our project manager as soon as we noticed them in July of 2023 and PGT never did anything about it. I closed on the new build 3/1/2024 and they have YET to replace these sliders. I’ve also found 2 broken window casings which canopy reimbursed us for and we found a 3rd this past weekend that was super glued back together. The sliding door it self looked as if it was dragged on concrete and installed. The warranty individual and myself have been sending emails to Kyle Knapp/Vicram Chaitram and Ryan Simmons and we’ve been getting no answer. Best advice I can give is ask your builder who their window/slider vendor is and if it’s PGT, ask them to use someone else. Trust me, the reviews seem to be consistent. The pictures of what was delivered speaks for itself.

PGT windows are great. I will say that the company that represents them, Steve’s windows and doors gets credit for making a manufacturing defect correct. He is the best ! There was a defect and he communicated with PGT and stayed with the issue until it was done right. Thank you!

I purchased two sliding doors for my ocean front condo at a price of $28000. Air has gone through them since I purchased them. They also fill up with water every time a rainstorm occurs. I have called customer service since the first rainstorm. And they have not been helpful at all. The company says it was made that way. I would not buy these doors if it were the last option I had. Terrible experience.

In April 2024 I ordered 10 impact windows from PGT. The windows were installed in September. 6 of the 10 windows had factory defects from counter balances to uneven frames and sashes. A PGT rep along with a rep from my install company did an inspection in November.I was told 4 to 6 weeks for replacement windows to be delivered.January 14,2025 still waiting for the defective windows to be replaced.If you are considering PGT windows based on previous reputation as I did consider another brand. This company has major issues manufacturing and servicing their product.
9 months and 22k later still waiting for windows.I don't recommend PGT.
