Had a shop tour today and had been given permission to take a picture of a newer fire truck build. The company has expansive operations and space available for large production focused on fabrication and assembly. I enjoyed the tour by observing the different phases of fire truck assembly and other products they provide.

The machine shop side was small and gave a job shop feel, where you "just make things work with what we got." Observed that there weren't anti fatigue floor mats or any comfortable working conditions for the machinists.

The building is not suitable for medical or food grade operations without a deep cleaning. No observed 5S or ISO standards, multiple products on the same wooden pallets and no discernable sorting of quality products.

Some of the "newer products" were too large for the CNC milling machines. Tasking extra operations and risks associated with tolerance and heat warping conditions. Again, "just make things work with what we got" might be a standard for operations here.

After reading some of the reviews on here, I see I am not the only one who has been ignored by this company as I am not $100k job.
I reached out to OFAB well over 3 weeks ago. The first gentleman I spoke to was “Rick.” He took all my information and knew what I was looking for. He was going to pass my information on to “Mike” who would call me with a price. About a week goes by and Mike calls me to give me a price for half of the project. Said he needed to get a price to drill some holes and would call me back within the next few days. Never got that phone call. I tried to call Mike at extension 228 and his voicemail box is full so you can’t leave a message.
So I end up going there in person and the secretary tells me that Mike and Rick are out and she’s not sure when they will be returning.
So now two weeks later after my last phone call with Mike I’ve still yet to hear from him.
If this business was not interested in doing a small job, they should tell the customer upfront instead of leading you to believe they want to earn your business.
Unfortunately I am not one to beg a business to take my hard earned money. There are lots of other businesses out there that would be willing to earn it.

If you're a customer with small machining needs, they'll effectively ignore you. Over a three week period I've emailed two people & made a site visit when emails weren't answered, was promised I'd have a quote later that day. Days later, no quote.

Have dealt with Ofab previously (2019), parts were well made. Generally friendly people, but apparently too busy to deal with smaller business needs.

Its always been a pleasure doing business with OFAB. Their welding technicians are some of the most knowledgeable in Florida. Also, they fabricate and machine just about anything, in half the time of other shops. Larry, the president, and his staff are very professional and love what they do. Highly recommended.

Seriously the rudest people I have ever talked to. Their employees can destroy your personal property and that’s fine by the company. Also it seems everyone here would much rather use crude language to deal with a situation instead of being professional and dealing with it in a civil manor, all I know is if I did half the stuff these employees do where I work it wouldn’t fly, I would be let go in a heartbeat but I guess that’s the difference between a professional well run business and one like this that’s just out for your money. There are better fabrication places in Ocala, I STRONGLY DO NOT recommend this one.

Mike from Ocala Fab. did a great job, after having my part milled, it was too big and Mike went out of his way to make sure it was taken care, even on his day off. This employee went well beyond his requirements to make sure the customer was happy . I would recommend them to anyone that needs any kind of fab work . Best of luck to all at Ocala Fab. Good Job.
