A lovely set of dunes. It almost feels like you are in a desert.

To access, you can park outside the Pacific Dunes RV park and walk ~0.5 miles on a side trail to the dunes. The trail starts to the right of the parking lot.

Our favorite experience on our California coast road trip. We purchased a sled and snacks from an RV camp where we parked. Then we walked about 10 minutes to the dunes. The kiddos had the best time. It was gorgeous! Such a wonderful experience. Wear lots of sunscreen and bring lots of water.

One of the most beautiful and secluded areas I've been to. If you walk down to the dunes via Strand Street towards where the vehicles congregate you may see a tribune you have to cross. Head east from there as there is a gap between areas that are protected.

Amazing hidden spot. We parked in front of the RV resort and walked along the edge of the resort on the right until reaching the dunes. It felt so quiet and surreal to have that Sahara like view few mins from the car
