Motion Madness Electric Bike's owner, Michael, provided us with a wealth of information, attention, and advice as we approached the purchase of our first electric bike. Michael's incredible, old fashioned, approach was reminiscent of the one on one service that was a hallmark of early-American handshake driven entrepreneurship.

I bought two electric bikes in January 2020 for my wife and myself. We live on the central coast and what a great purchase it has been. We both enjoy our bikes very much. Mike (Motion Madness) was great to work with, and continues to be helpful in every way, answering any questions we have regarding the bikes operation(s). We initially were going to have our older bikes retrofitted to electric, but Mike provided excellent pricing, making it worthwhile to buy new. I did considerable research for an e-bike & found Himiway bikes that are well made, with upgraded components, superior battery, good reviews and comparable pricing to other e-bikes in price range. I looked for a local dealer & hit on Motion Madness in Pismo Beach. I met with Mike (owner) at his garage "showroom" & test rode several e-bikes. We discussed conversion of my existing bike which was not practical. Mike is an electrical engineer & knowledgeable about his products. He spent considerable time explaining detail& differences. I'm 6'2" & 170lb so I chose the Himiway Zebra step-thru for my style of riding. I paid the additional fees for assembly & tuning which is worth it. I also have a local dealer to address any problems I may encounter without having to deal directly with the manufacturer...that's his problem! I enthusiastically recommend Motion Madness for your e-bike considerations.

Had a conversion done on my Specialized RockHopper 29’r and bought a new Trek Marlin 29’r electric mountain bike from Motion Madness Mike for my wife. Mike is great to work with, and really excels at listening and providing custom solutions for his customers. If you are totally new to electric bikes, he’s also super helpful in finding just the right fit for you. I was a little skeptical/apprehensive of the conversion idea, thinking it wouldn't be as good or maybe couldn’t hold up to the rigors of my style of mountain biking. Let me tell you his work is solid! I’ve logged over 100 miles of very tough, bone crushing metal twisting terrain, and so far so good. I have also found that Mike is also very good about supporting his work, understanding what he sells, and just generally great at offering support, or giving advice with any questions or concerns you may have. I can not recommend enough going with motion madness for your electric bike journey. Whether it’s simple road riding, beach cruising, touring, cross country riding… whatever…chances are Mike is your guy.

I cannot say enough about the integrity, customer service and support of M&M Specialties. Their E bikes are top of the line, and they truly care about the customer!
We were looking for a E bike to take with us on travels while we utilize our travel trailer. When we go to destinations sometimes it’s nice to be able to walk and see the scenery, but what’s even better is to take an E bike along and be able to see much more scenery. If we have to run to a bathroom, or the store for ice cream, this makes it so much more fun! I honestly expected a different experience with an E bike. I kind of felt like it would be the lazy man’s way to go about living a more travel lifestyle. I was way wrong, not only are these bikes super fun but they actually allow you to decide if you want to do the work, (albeit very little work), or if you just wanna relax and cruise. Some days I really feel like pushing it and giving myself a challenge, and other days I love the ease of just being one with the bike.

These bikes are truly an amazing piece of machinery, they are super fun, and they are great to either fold up and pack in a small SUV for the day, or simply put into your trailer and use while your destination. They will replace a bike for most people who are traveling with a travel trailer, and they could even replace your car, because you can get the distance and the speeds with a lot more fun and being out in the open air! These are great E bikes for any type of pavement, or off-road fun. They work great on the sand, and they will make you wish you had more. In fact, we decided to buy one, and only after driving it and watching my wife having so much fun I realized I needed one for my myself

Now, that’s not all! I earlier talked about customer service. A business, especially in these times, relies on the fact that if you give great customer service, you will bring many more people to your business. Mike knows how to do this! He listens, he assesses, and he helps you make the best decision that will incorporate your money, and what you need out of a bike. Instead of a constant upsell like many sales people too, Mike really listens to what your needs are and really helps you make the best decision possible. He will let you try different bikes and test drive them, he will tell you all the differences and features, He’s super honest about everything. You can tell he prides himself on honesty and integrity. Customer service is the way a business makes a difference these days, and the after sales support that Mike provides is second to none. You will not be disappointed with anything regarding the sale from Mike. Customer service before the sale, during the sale, and after the sale support! You cannot go wrong with M&M Specialties!

I contacted Mike through his craigslist ad. I went to meet him and I was impressed that he had a couple of bikes waiting for me to try out. He thought I should be on a bigger bike and we kept in contact about what I wanted for my new bike. He picked up the bigger bike for me personally , at the bike factory when he was on a trip through LA. I told him I wanted to ride on longer trips. He put together a double battery system with pedal assist and a thumb throttle. So exciting to enjoy riding a bike again!
His service was impressive as a sensor went awry and he fixed it and adjusted a power cable and the brakes,(putting on a disc brake on the front), a month later. A year later & everything works perfectly. I appreciate your service, as we don’t see that too much anymore. I will most definitely go to Mike for my next electric bike!! Thanks Mike 🙂 John

These people are so helpful. They converted two Electra Beach Cruisers 7D step-over and 7D step-thru to electric for me in 2021. Bafang front drives with incredible power. They have exceeded my expectations of a bike shop. They are a true specialty shop for all your specialty needs. Just ask and they'll find a way to do it for you! Mike and his staff are friendly and you won't find a better shop for electric bikes around. He sells electric bikes and scooters at great prices and if I ever need another bike conversion or a new one I will be returning here. They truly know how to give great customer service.
