Really cool trip, and at $6 per head, the cheapest dolphin cruise you will ever find.

Arrive at least 30 minutes early, we tried to push it to 15 minutes coming back from Fort Morgan, and were off by exactly one car, but were able to blow an hour and a half at the Fort, and pier near it.

FYI, if you are in line the Ferry a can hold around 25 or 26 vehicles, couldn’t find that information anywhere.

The Ferry ride was great and relaxing. Liked the oil rigs, the corporative and nice staff, and the ferry ride all the way around! For us, it was ~$9 per person for a one way trip which isn’t that bad but worth the ride if you wanted to skip traffic, to see the history around the area, and something to do for the kids. Worth the ride and price!

We enjoyed our round trip experience. The men working were very friendly and took time to talk with our family! Bring bread to feed the birds and if you have a larger family or multiple vehicles check the pricing because they sell a $100 gift card for $80 we spent $90 on 2 cars with 4 adults and 1 kid.

The Dauphin Island ferry is a fun and quick way to get from Fort Morgan to the island. After a quick meal at Tacky Jack's, we boarded the ferry in caravan (2 vehicles) to visit the island before driving back to Memphis.
The personnel on the ferry were friendly and businesslike. The ticket taker at Fort Morgan was nice too. He gave clear instructions and a smile. I thought it odd that I could not pay cash and had to tap my card from a 3-foot board he stuck out, but I expect with so many people traveling through that station, they had to be concerned with germs, especially in light of Covid.
Once on the ferry, the gentle breezes and catwalks kept my grandkids occupied. There are telescopes on the observation deck that give you about 3 minutes of 150x magnification. We were able to see a lighthouse and closeups of some of the oil rigs in the bay. Even our dog Charlie had a great time.
I was a bit disappointed that there is no bathroom facility on the ferry, as we had to hold it across the 30-minute voyage. When we asked one of the staff about it, they pointed to the side of the ship, and said there were plenty of places to go. Erm, no.

The ferry ride is very pleasant. It is cost-effective if you are going round-trip ferry is clean efficient and on time take a loaf of bread or a box of saltine so you can feed the birds off the back of the boat. We had a good time watching the birds fight over the bread. We took the last three of the day at 6:30 and it was really fun to see the beautiful sun getting ready to set.

I decided to avoid the nightmare traffic on 59 and the Mobile tunnel Parkway and take the ferry. I drove and was greeted by a very pleasant young lady who told me I would be on the next ferry within 5 minutes. Loading cars went smoothly and the ride to Dauphin Island was nice and scenic. Both sides of the ferry have raised observation decks if you want a higher view. The fee for myself and my car was $21. I'd do it again to avoid the agony of traffic delays using I-10 and 59.

We drove our car onto the ferry. Got out and stood on the upper deck. Saw dolphins out in the distance. And went on the last trip of the day. The sun was starting to set which made for an amazing ride and photos. It felt like a sunset cruise. We had just missed the previous ferry, so we got out of the car ferry lane, where you wait to drive onto the ferry, and drove around the corner and checked out Ft. Pickens while we waited for the ferry to show up. Then drove back and got in the back of the line when we were finished looking around the fort. No one cared that we left for about 45 minutes. This was not only fun, but a great experience! And made for some awesome sunset photos. I usually get motion sickness on boats, but this was such a smooth ride, I didn't need any Dramamine. I did perfectly fine without it. You can remain in your car, if you want to. But there are benches a top. Enjoy!
