My fiancé and I did the wedding ring crafting workshop and I highly recommended it. We came in knowing nothing about metalwork or casting and came out of it with a bunch of knowledge, a super fun experience, and 2 wedding rings made by our own hands. The owner is super knowledgeable and friendly and can help you as much as you want or as much as you need (and I needed some major help at the end). He helped us make our completely different styles and....it was just super cool. If you're getting married and want cool, unique rings you gotta go here!

This is amazing!!! What a wonderful idea, in this workshop the instructor teaches you step by step how to make your wedding bands from start to finish. You start with a square of wax and work your way to creating a unique wedding ring. This is truly an experience and memories for life. If you're getting married or renewing your vows this is a fun way to create something special.

Took the Lost Wax Ring Making class here and absolutely loved it!! Dan and Abby were phenomenal instructors. I forget how I stumbled upon this class, but I came in knowing absolutely nothing about the lost wax process or metalworking in general. I ended the 8 week class with two rings that I'm really proud of, both made by myself from start to finish.

Dan and his shop at Machiarini Design is fantastic. They helped guide me through the casting process for an engagement ring which I completed during a wedding ring weekend workshop. I highly recommend this process if you are looking to produce a unique and hand crafted ring for your partner.

My wife and I made our wedding bands in a workshop with Metalworks SF and it was fantastic. We had previously done a similar workshop in Denver and the process was a nightmare, leaving us with rings we weren't happy with and had negative memories of making.
With Metalworks we were extremely happy with the entire process. Our intended designs were rather simple, but we got full support from the experienced designers rather than having the simple designs denigrated. We also came in as absolute beginners, but were walked through as learning adults, rather than handheld toddlers.
The result is a pair of rings we are very happy to have made, and which have strongly positive emotions attached to them from the very start. Absolutely recommended for anyone who wants a special experience to carry for a lifetime.

The team was very accommodating and scheduling was easy.

Wow, so happy this place exists, in this techy world of apps and fitbits!
Actual people making things with their hands, out of metal! My love and I were part of the wedding ring workshop and created our own wedding rings from scratch. We made wax carvings, melted the gold, cast the rings... the whole process ourselves! Can't praise them enough. Do it!

The best place for handmade jewelry/ wearable art/ unique pieces that I’ve come across in SF. There’s a lot of history here and the people who own the place are amazing educators as well as artists.

If you’re interested in getting into metalwork, you should consider taking a class here - there are small classes where you can learn a lot about making wearable art.
