Best purchase I’ve made all year. My husband and I gave Derek a basic description of a cutting board design we wanted, black walnut with some live edge, and he absolutely nailed it. It was so beautiful we ended up ordering a second one for a wedding gift and our friends were blown away! Very reasonably priced, very quick turnaround time (days!) and it will literally last a lifetime.

To say I am in love with my new table and matching bench would be an understatement. They're just gorgeous! Derek was a pleasure to work with. I didn't even know where to start when we spoke about a live edge table. He guided me through the different woods & finishes, and helped me choose a unique slab. Delivery was flawless-- he brings all the pieces and assembles it onsite. I think he likes to see where his baby is going to live! He is charming and clearly very talented. My son, who is also an artist, was blown away by the craftsmanship and overall look/design of the table. I'm sitting on the new bench as I type, and even this feels fancy. Highly, highly recommend!

If you're in the market for a high quality handcrafted woodwork product, you're in the best hands with Derek. His were made to understand and speak through the wood grain to help deliver the buyer's dream. He crafted my stunning dining table in no-time. We met, I explained what I wanted, he listened and managed to deliver my table in a timely manner. The legs on the table are absolutely a nice touch.

Derek had his creative ability working hard with my 2 reading chairs from the 1920’s. He returned like-new chairs and I couldn’t be happier! Caning was removed and wood replaced on one. The second chair needed a creative solution to a missing back. Wow! Love them. (The second chair will be upholstered.. no pic yet)

We wanted a kitchen island made locally from sustainably-harvested wood - not some imported thing from who-knows-what-kind of wood, so I did an internet search and found Derek's website. We liked the looks of his work, so contacted him. We sent a picture of approximately what we were looking for, and then discussed dimensions, type of wood, finish, and a few other details. Derek was a good communicator, and within a couple of weeks we had exactly what we wanted. In fact, it looks even better than we had hoped. I even learned some interesting things about black walnut trees and wood. He is obviously a skilled craftsman who cares deeply about his work. Highly recommended!

Derek does beautiful work, he created a large double walnut bookcase for our study. He not only added beautiful touches he delivered installed and ensured It was earthquake proof. It matches the architecture of our 1930’s house perfectly, and he even installed some crown molding as a finishing touch. We will definitely reach out to Derek for our next woodworking project!

Working with Derek (Masterson Woodcraft) was just so easy. I showed him what I wanted and he did exactly what I asked for and in a short amount of time. My table is absolutely gorgeous!!! He got right on the job. He definitely knows what he is doing, very talented! Super friendly, too! Thank you so much, Derek. You did a beautiful job!!!
PS Table is shown with breadboard extensions that are super sturdy and come on and off easily!!! I seriously can’t say enough about his craftsmanship!!!
