Best 6th grade field trip!!
We took 43 kids to marine lab in Key largo and we had an amazing time!!
The facilities were clean and well organized and the staff are the best!! passionate young people ready to teach and engage the children in a marine adventure.
they provide all the equipment for snorkeling and instructions for the children and teachers, all meals are provided as well as classes and labs,
The snorkel was the best activity, beautiful ocean and colorful marine life, the lab and evening classes were great too and the breath taking views were so worth it!!
It is a full schedule that will sure take all your energy but will also keep you entertained, enjoying every minute.
For sure our 6th grade students had the best experience and for sure the best field trip so far.

I attended MarineLab in 2015 as a camp counselor with my group of campers. The experience was so impactful I ended up applying to work for them in 2017 and stayed on the team for 4 years. I have worked at multiple education non-profits over the years and MarineLab is by far the best of them all. The standard of teaching and inimitable field trip experiences are unmatched. Marinelab truly changed my life and I’ve heard so many students say the same.

Outstanding facility, super knowledgeable and friendly staff!! A fabulous place to bring your family with kids 7+ to visit and learn about marine life and visit a coral reef up close. Watch out for MarineLab family days! They host them occasionally and are well worth the visit.

I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend a professional development program at the Marine Lab in Key Largo, FL, and I cannot speak highly enough about the experience. The combination of hands-on labs, immersive snorkeling adventures, and engaging fieldwork provided a perfect blend of learning and excitement. Each activity was not only educational but also deeply inspiring, reinforcing the importance of marine conservation and scientific inquiry.

The staff at the Marine Lab were exceptional—knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we got the most out of every session. They guided us through every aspect of the program with expertise, whether it was conducting labs on marine ecosystems or leading us on snorkeling trips that showcased the diverse marine life of the Florida Keys.

The facilities were exactly what you'd expect from a place nestled in the heart of the Keys: comfortable, well-equipped, and full of character, capturing the essence of this beautiful region. The whole environment fostered learning and collaboration, making it the perfect setting for educators and professionals to reconnect with the wonders of marine science.

Overall, this was one of the best professional development experiences I’ve ever had. The balance between theoretical learning and practical, real-world application was spot on, and I left feeling rejuvenated and inspired to bring these lessons back to my classroom. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of marine biology in a truly unique setting.

I did this both as a student on a field trip (in 2004) and as an adult in their teacher workshop, and highly recommend both experiences! The overall experience value just can't be beat, that's why it's stayed on my mind for 20 years. The food is great, the lodging is fine- not everyone is a fan of the bunkbeds but I think it's just dandy. But most importantly, the quality of the educators is top notch and you'll have a great time snorkeling and exploring the ecosystems of south Florida! From sea slugs to stingrays, to sharks, you'll definitely see some cool creatures and very likely a lot of them!
