My daughter picked the hottest day in May to celebrate their her birthday and 5-yr wedding anniversary at this venue. First, I'll start with the positives:

PROS: Charming outdoor patio areas. String lights and "mist sprayers" everywhere. Great service. Dozens of beers on tap. A nice selection of wines. A friendly and happy crowd. A trolley car and old tractor create a fun atmosphere. The bathrooms, 2 in the detached bungalows and a big portable bathroom trailer were very clean. The bathroom trailer had a wheelchair and was fully air conditioned: The coolest place on site! There were several private parties that day. Our group of 50+ people were at the very end, by the "trolley." Again, friendly staff and good service. Valet parking.

CONS: With outdoor venues, you can't control the weather. It was over a 100 deg when we arrived at 4pm to set up. Fortunately the venue had "mist sprayers" everywhere. Thank God. No outdoor music nor sound amplification allowed due to the apartment or condo complex directly on the other side of the fence. I'm sure they must've had noise complaints. So during my speech, I had to speak loudly so our party of 50+. Thankfully I am a skilled orator. Haha.

My in-law got stung by a bee or wasp. She gasped and dropped her sturdy wine glass (which survived the fall.) Thankfully, she was not allergic to bee stings. She treated the sting with ice, kept calm and carried on. She did not want to spoil the special evening. I came home with several mosquito bites and now have welts on my arms and neck.

Lastly, Malibu Wine & Garden doesn't offer food services. So they allowed our party to bring water, non-alcoholic drinks and cater our own food. Their preferred food vendor was Pitfire Pizza, the Woodland Hills location. We love Pitfire Pizza but they nearly ruined our party. This is not Malibu Wine & Garden's fault. I will write a long review with Pitfire Pizza separately. Basically, Pitfire Pizza delivered 2 large orders to the venue. While we were waiting for our food, the other party was enjoying ALL our food. A terrible mix up.

So I will ignore this catering SNAFU for this review and give this venue 4-stars for its service and merits alone.

A hidden gem in the valley for those that love a good outdoor winery/beer garden but don’t want to go too far. They have valet parking and can take large parties or events. They also offer pizza on weekends or custom charcuterie boards to pair with your wine and beer selections. Definitely the type of place to get all cute with your girls or partner and forget about your troubles!

Fun place to gather and enjoy time with your friends or significant other. This place is outdoors so make sure you are prepared for the current weather. This place is setup for wine tasting with some draft brews available as well.

It is quite spacious, nice tree co er and they do have many heaters to keep you warm. You can reserve ahead of time, and I highly recommend it. Parking is valet and there are not many other places to park, but it's cheap $6.

They generally do NOT have food here, bring your own or order in with grubhub or your delivery service of choice. I was here on a Saturday night with 5 friends and there was at the time a pizza option that was here, but that was it and I am not sure if they are setup all the time.

Atmosphere is pretty cool, very easy going and romantic. I suggest treat it like a nice picnic with some good beverages available. Wine was good and not overly expensive. You can also bring outside food and beverages, but not wine or beer.

I would go back and now that I know more of what to expect, it will be easier. Hope you have a great time here!

Very cool building! Service is excellent. Love the indoor seating, yet the outdoor is probably best at night. Enjoyed a Freemont Bourbon barrel aged Dark Star.

We came with our 7 month baby. She is calm and smiley. No one was there at 3pm on Wednesday. We traveled out of the way to get here during rush hour. We were told by the host/an employee that we couldn’t come in because of our baby. We haven’t had that experience at other wine tasting places or breweries.

This place is low-key and chill. I did not expect it to be in a residential area though. When I was driving, I was looking for a winery field, but turn into this place and it was in a residential area. So there’s valet parking if you want to park close enough, And when you walk in, it’s nice and has a small road in the middle and on each side tables and chairs. It’s a pretty decent winery spot. They have more of bitter and dry wines and not too many sweet ones. They have some cool beers and only one cider if you’d like those. We went on a Sunday and they close at seven and I think last call is at 6:30 or six which is not enough time to order more alcohol and finish it. One of the waiters were really rude. I think his name is Christopher. He basically told us to get out Because they were closed as we were finishing our wine we also have to wait for our valet and he was still telling us to leave. Very rude. It was like he was trying to get a reaction out of us, but we are professionals and we don’t go down that road.other than that, the place was pretty cool. Just left on a bad note.

A Taste of Northern California at Malibu Wine & Beer Garden

As a new resident, I’m still getting to know the LA area, and I’ve been missing the winery scene from Northern California. So, when my friends came to visit over the weekend, we decided to branch out to Malibu Wine & Beer Garden in Calabasas for some wine tasting. It turned out to be the perfect choice!

Despite being super busy, the staff managed to seat us without a reservation, which we really appreciated. The ambiance was fantastic—beautifully set up with a warm, welcoming vibe that reminded me of the wineries up north in Napa Valley. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and the combination of great wine, friends, and scenic surroundings made for an amazing time.

Malibu Wine & Beer Garden is definitely a gem for anyone craving a touch of the country feel without having to travel too far. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of what they have to offer!

Okay, but if you’re not a member they make you feel bad and your seating options are limited. $8 mandatory valet parking not including tip. Only food option was pizza and it was so so.
