Camp Aurora hosted Christ's Church on the Move Women's Ministry S'More Worship event last Saturday night. It is an amazing place!! Ample parking and beautiful setting. What a blessing!

My family and I have been coming here since the late 80’s. It’s been a blessing to us to be part of a Christian community. My children came here when they were young during the summers and were introduced to the Christian faith and two of them got baptized in the lake. Since then, the camp have grown 10 fold with much modern facilities and activities to reach the young and the young at heart with numerous retreats throughout the year. It’s well managed as a nonprofit organization and good stewards of the gifts contributed to its growth. If you are looking for a fun, Christian based place for your children to attend during the summer. This I s the place to send them.

I went to this camp when I was 15. That was 15 years ago and it changed my life. I grew my faith and made life long friends. I looked it up because I have a 7 year old and whilst he is still a bit young for his away camp Camp Aurora is first on my list. So happy it still running!

** Update**

We took a leap of faith this summer. After much consideration we decided to let my son go this summer. His is 8 and he absolutely loved it. It was just as special for him and he can’t wait to go back next year. Very grateful he was able to have that experience. Hope this helps. Many blessings 🤍

EDIT: I did not go to camp here! Camp looks like an easy 5 star, absolutely beautiful and fun place to be! They are generous to open the disc course to the public but you do have to call ahead of time. My disc review is this - Disc Golf Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Small and technical course but beautiful and fun. Some holes literally play through impossible obstacles, playgrounds and pavillions lol. Still fun. There are a few holes you can rip at 350+ but most are 250 or so. Worth going if you're in the area

This is our 2nd year and the only sleep away camp I have ever trusted with my child. Their values and expectations are clearly communicated and upheld. The staff (like Cynthia Poster) really pour love into our children and I feel she is safe there.
My daughter is having the best time meeting new friends and learning about Christ in a way that will make a lasting impression. I could not be more grateful for their campership opportunity and community that makes it possible for this single mom!

Lake Aurora is one of my favorite places to attend. I love being around people and relaxing under the big oak tree. I love everything about the peaceful place and especially all the people there that work and volunteer there. Keep up the good work. 🙂

For being a Christian organization the staff behave in a way that is antithetical to Jesus’s teachings. Let me explain. My boyfriend and I played frisbee golf there months ago and besides the confusion about needing to text staff before arriving everything was fine, wonderful day. Recently my boyfriend took a friend of his there to play frisbee golf. The staff were very kind, even providing a map of the course. They had a great time. Then this friend brought his girlfriend to the course, also wanting to have a wonderful experience. A gentleman came up to them and said that they were not allowed to be there. Yelling and using aggressive language, he told them if they wanted to play frisbee golf they had to be finger printed and should have asked permission first. He asked them personal questions; who they were, where they lived, etc. He then forced them off the property. I’m sure you have already guessed why my boyfriend and I had a very different experience than this friend and his girlfriend. We are white. They are not.
What’s ironic is that my boyfriend and I are not Christian. But the couple that were kicked out ARE believers and are active in the church.
I’ve never left a review before, ever. But choosing to be silent in the face of bigotry is not ok either. I used to be a Christian but I’ve seen too many Christians behave in ways that made a hypocrisy of the church and the Bible. To Lake Aurora it really doesn’t matter what you believe, just what you look like.

Awesome place i went with oceans untie camp in 2024 and this place is were i felt the fire of God for the first time and it changed my life. Also i love there gaga ball pit that's my favorite game
