This projector is awesome. Auto focus is a plus! So neat no matter how big you go the picture is clear. I don't mind that it's only 720p resolution. The laser diode makes up for that at 10,000 hours! By then the next newest and greatest projector will be available. For now this is the greatest projector out there. For realsy, it's so small you can carry it anywhere. I bought the Lightning to HDMI adapter for Apple and I can stream Netflix to the projector while I'm at work "working". At 60 lumens ANSI this projector is bright enough. No complaints. Remember it's laser diode so very different from LED bulb. The one watt speaker is sufficient for my office but a HDMI audio extractor is needed if you want to play the sound through different speakers. Overall, this gadget is very cool and fun and I love it!

As for the right environment, it should be abundantly clear that this environment should be DARK. Don't try to use it in your living room during the day with sunlight coming in. You'll be disappointed. However, for what I envisioned - using it to project movies and shows on my wall so I can watch things with the SO in bed - it's awesome! Beats watching on a laptop or tablet ten times over. The image is surprisingly good for such a small projector, and like I said is more than adequate for that use. I'd buy one.

Having said all that, I'll add that I have not used other projectors in its class so I can't offer anything in the way of comparison or cost effectiveness vs. the competition. I can only say that this seems to be the highest resolution pico projector currently available, and on the higher end of the brightness scale as well, if the stats are to be believed.
