I flew in & out of there many times about 40 yr's ago. Sounds pretty much the same today. The one thing I do remember is the angle at take-off and landing, it was really steep but fun. Just do it.

The people who work here make all the difference. Tammy is always so courteous and professional at the check-in counter. TSA is efficient. The staff works hard to keep the waiting area clean. If there is a weather delay, they do an excellent job of keeping everyone informed. It's not the perfect set-up, it's cramped, and way too small, but the people make it work. Tip: Use the bathroom before going through security, there is limited availability on the other side.

I'm here about 3 or 4 times a year, huge fan of Kodiak, the town, the people, the scenery, even this tiny airport. My only request...for Alaska airlines, could you please board each flight by groups?

Talk about an easy and small airport to get through! One gate, you exit the plane down the stairs, then into the one baggage claim. No food service, only 2 on-site rental car services; town and services are a few mile away. Great to miss the daily hustle and bustle of large airports.

Small airport but does have tsa if your flying AirAlaska, Ravn does not go thru security here so you have to get your bags and do it in Anchorage if your connecting to the lower 48, the AirAlaska jet requires you to be there around an hour early, you can cut it closer if your on Ravn, there are snack machines but do not expect a restaurant, car rentals are available and taxi service down down costs around 25$, there is free parking just outside the terminal

Horribly planned airport layout, try checking in during peak fishing or hunting season and you will see a line out the door and mass confusion inside. They also closed the only redeeming quality which was the restaurant bar adjacent to the terminal. So now your limited to vending machine food.

Kodiak or Alaska Air need to enlarge and update this airport. It was made to handle 1/3 the people at once. All waiting areas are ridiculously to small. I don't see how they can get fire inspections passed. It would be a disaster if a fire happen while everyone is crammed in the waiting area.
With all the fish boxes that go through this airport, they should have freezer capability.
