Soon after leaving the parking lot, you are on a path of pines and live oaks on the way to the beach. It feels much more remote than it is. The watch tower rewards you with a beautiful spot to look for dolphins. Best of all, your dog is welcome.
There are two boardwalks closed due to storm damage meaning you can't get to Anclote Gulf Park on the beach path. On the other hand, the Coastal Anclote Trail is a long paved path that joins Key Vista to Anclote Gulf Park. Also a great place to bike ride.

Great place for short hikes, lagoon, swimming, ocean and a lookout tower, small beach. All dog friendly. No fish except mullet and bait balls.

This is a beautiful place. Parking is free. I came here because I read in some other reviews that it's a good place to launch a kayak, but I couldn't find any put-ins close to the parking lot. In addition, there's no launch spot/ramp symbol on the directional sign. I did pass a few people with rods walking in a ways so this looks like a good place to fish but unless you wanna carry your kayak a long way to the water, I wouldn't recommend this place for kayaking or paddle boarding.

What a gem!! Definitely worth a visit if you want to hit the trails. Whether on a bike, or on foot, there is something for everyone. Trails connect to other "park(s)" with a pier, playground and restrooms. Seen many fishing, walk their dogs or simply enjoy their surroundings. Spotted dolphins, a variety of feathered friends and a few turtles.

One of my favorite local parks around here. Relaxing, long, (but not too long) trails that lead to the Gulf. You get the best of both worlds here. Take a nice stroll through the woods and then walk along the beach and admire the ocean. I recently just discovered on the very far left side of the park a long boardwalk that leads out to the next park North of Key Vista :). Plenty of space to roam around and explore nature, think about the world, take some time for yourself and simply be present 🙂

Beautiful place. It needs more signs. A simple sign saying this way to the parking lot and that way to the observation tower would have helped. We walked a surprisingly sandy path. Sand as in beach sand and not dirt. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has trouble getting around. It's not wheelchair friendly. I'm told one of the paths goes all the way to St. Pete. that would have been a long walk if we had gotten lost. We climbed up the observation tower, and it shook slightly while we stood at the top. Beautiful view of our endless ocean. Everyone we walked passed was friendly, even the dogs.
