How Spectra Watermakers owned by Katadyn Outdoors handles warranty for products bought in EU:
- 1 month since major failure cause by incorrect part used by manufacturer (12V solenoid in 24V installation causing burning manifold - fire hazard onboard!) 2 services in Spain refused the repair,
- after 2 weeks of waiting, service in France came onboard and offered to commence servicing after another 2 weeks - meaning that yacht which is cruising would have to wait 4 more weeks in port to have it repaired!
- which makes it all together 2 months with no working watermaker...

I think Spectra Watermakers should strongly rethink their way of servicing their products, not to mention that in EU warranty doesn't cover labor costs (they just provide parts and customer has to pay for service of product broken during warranty period...)

They are only fast in "kind suggestions" that if I will provide infor on social media they will as they described it "not help anyone"...
That's what customer gets after giving such a big credit of trust and supporting their business.

The most disappointing is that they refused to provide warranty documents, CE declaration of conformity and they don't react at all to the fact that by installing 12V electrical part in 24V installation they are putting customer in life threating fire hazard situation.

I want to share my very positive experience with the Katadyne-Spectra European Manager Fabio Pedestal’ and the dealer in Molndal, Sweden (their Manager took care of me and I believe his name is Robert Andresen).

Shortly, I am building a beautiful sailing boat at the Hallberg Rassy Yard in Sweden for a circumnavigation. The yard offered me a different brand of desalinators made in Sweden. Their Dealership in Sweden offered me training in servicing completely their unit at the dealership.

I wanted the same training from Spectra and Mr. Fabio Pedesta' and the Sweden dealer accommodated my request immediately. When I talked to Mr. Podesta’ and I visited the Mastervolt-Spectra dealer in Molndal, Sweden, the reception was very professional and they gave me a sense of great support of their product.
Therefore, I have chosen the Spectra 700 24 volt over the other Sweden AC water maker. I am planning a circumnavigation with many other sailboats and I will speak very highly of the Spectra support in my sailing community. Giorgio M. Aru

I wish to announce that I had a great experience in witnessing and visualizing a demonstration performed by Mr. Tom Vance of Moan Marine here in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia. As an individual from a remote island where there is no power and other reliable utility systems, I personally appreciate very much this invention that brings greater hope for me and my people.
