This is the best place to get one processed ! it may take longer than some other places but that is because quality takes time. I love the fact that the deer I bring in is the deer I get back. So many other places just lump deer together for sausage and ground. Josh and Julie run an excellent operation and always do a great job. Their customer service and dedication to doing the job right is what brings me back every year.

Josh is one of the most professional, courteous, and accommodating business owners I have ever met. It took awhile to get my deer back but I was made aware of that prior to leaving my deer. Josh does a thorough job and tries to get the most off of your deer which gives you more bang for your buck so to speak. The wait was well worth it and it has been by far the best deer meat I’ve ever had processed. He was very accommodating when I called and asked to change my order and even went as far as sending me a copy of my order so that I could change it accordingly. I currently have two more deer waiting to be processed and as long as I hunt in the area I will continue to use Josh.

I upgraded my earlier post, which left out a few notes.
This is where you bring your game if you want to avoid the chop shop processing places. At Josh's, they care about product quality, quality of service, and customer satisfaction. These great folks have a great business, easy drop off/pick up, and they respond to inquiries quickly - even by text (very convenient). Their attention to detail and packaging is far superior to any other processor I've used over the last 30 years (From Wisconsin to Florida and everywhere in between).
A variety of ways to have your deer processed, and they work with you on timelines- Again, they are very convenient and easy to work with.
I used this processor two years in a row. The first year (2020-2021) was to process deer (all hamburger mixed with pork fat). In the second year (2021-2022), I left a deer in early January '22 for standard processing (no mix). Packaged neat and vacuumed sealed for freshness and easy long-term storage.
Don't make assumptions as I did at first. Just ask - they'll provide the answers and solutions you are looking for. There are a variety of timelines for processing. I choose to turn in the whole deer to be cleaned, butchered, and vacuumed and sealed. Well worth the wait!
I hope to see them again for the 22-23 season.

Left a deer at Josh Deer processing in Greenville AL in Oct of 2023. Although it took a long time to get it back it was hands down the best deer sausage I've ever had. I can't get over how good it was. Hopefully I can use him again next year.

Josh and his team are spot on when it comes to Processing. Me and my family and friends have been pleased with the meat we get back from Josh for past and present years. He never disappoints us. When you find a processor that’s as detailed as Josh you better hold on to him, because I’m sure these type of processors are rare. We recently bought two orders of abandoned deer from him, that the harvesters opted not to pickup for whatever reason, and all of the meat was great. Even though it was from last year’s harvest Josh Processing had taken great care of the meat throughout the year. Thanks to the original harvesters, LOL. Josh continue to do a great job brother and much success on taking a break which I’m sure you want get much due to the high demand of your product and we are approaching mid season.

Have used Josh for a few years now and won’t go anywhere else as long as he’s in business. If you take him a whole deer, expect a wait but it’s well worth it. I quarter all of my deer and drop them off in a cooler and get them back much quicker than you will if you drop off a whole deer, which is to be expected. Clean, professional operation. Meat comes vacuum sealed with contents, weight, and date all labeled on the packaging.

After we paid a deposit and waited six months for our deer meat, we were allowed one week to pick it up. Since we were both out of town for work, we were unable to pick it up by Friday (the deadline), and when we called at 8AM Monday to drive an hour to pick it up, we were told our deer meat was sold to someone else. When was there even time to sell it? It was not even a half business day after the pickup deadline. No offer to buy replacement meat- nothing.…just stole our deposit and our deer. I would never patronize or recommend a business that treats customers in this manner, and looking at the reviews, we aren’t the only ones who they have done this to. Give your customers a 24 hour grace period at least- we gave you 6 months to process.

To your response, as you stated, “life happens.” Though you clearly don’t understand that sometimes that means one might be one business day late in picking up their product, or might be a little too busy or forget to respond to your one single notification that the product is ready after 6 months of waiting for said product. This is just a shady way to do business and likely make an additional profit off the product.

took my deer to him 2/11/23. it's now 3/30/24. my deer are ready for pickup. I've called and spoke with him several times. at this point I would like my deposit back. these cannot be the deer i took to him.
