Would not recommend this establishment. dropped off a 410 lb pig and got back 193 lbs - we were charged for 258 lbs.. also charged us an additional $.75 a lb even though the paper said $3.55 for one type of sausage and $1.75 for the other and $.75 for basic cuts.

Tried to talk to the owner and he wanted nothing to do with it. Basically told us he has enough customers and if people don’t like it go somewhere else. So in essence we took about a 53% loss. 410lbs to 193lbs is insane and charging for 258lbs !!!!

Joe not only charged us $.75 more on the sausage , he tried to justify it by saying he could charge more like other places. Your consumers didn’t set your prices .. You did .. Your math wasn’t matching the sheet you provided us- we also have processed meat, we went against the bad reviews we heard and trusted that you would be honest and fair.

He is not charging an extra $.75 per lb on the “basic cuts” yet charging an additional $.75 per lb on sausage which is already $1.75 & $3.55 (future customers make sure you know this) . No where on his sheet does it state this.

We tried to offer advice to add the additional charge on to his sausage prices on the sheet … he wanted zero feedback.

He only wanted to tell us how we could pay more like other places and if people aren’t happy they can go somewhere else because he has ENOUGH business.

We honestly have never encountered a “business owner” like this!

He also kept the pig for a month and didn’t respond to our questions regarding when the pig would be ready until way after the fact and then the pig was coincidentally “ready” the next day.

We are missing a significant amount of meat considering our pig was 410lbs and we were supposedly given back 258 - that is a 152 lb difference from where we started.

We also paid a $25.00 deposit (which was not deducted from our total) … however since has been returned after requesting it.

We know alot of people in the industry and made calls to see if what he was charging checks out - We were told the price was kinda high and the discrepency in weight didnt add up.. however maybe he would make it right..

Upon weighing everything out there is a huge discrepancy in what we paid vs what we received .. we paid for 258 lbs we received 193.73 . We were charged for 36 lbs of each sausage yet we are missing 11 lbs.

We should have took others warnings when they told us to not go here. We took the chance and that proved to us our friends/family were correct.

Other customers also have had issues with the amount of meat they received back. We will also be speaking to a professional butcher regarding this to gain their insight to see if it even remotely backs what he was trying to say to us.

We raised that pig to know what went into the pig.. so we would know the quality.. not to be shorted in the end.

On a positive note his establishment seems clean , the meat he did process was done well & he vacuum sealed the meat.

We have requested a refund of the difference.. We expect as a reputable business in this community he will do the right thing.
