Hands down the best run landfill in the state of Florida. The roads are always well maintained & clear of tire hazards, scheduling is simple and easy, and despite Karen's opinion below, the landfill smell is just fine. All of the reasons why Heart of Florida Landfill has been my company's #1 preferred disposal site for the past 3 years can be directly attributed to their exceptional staff here. Special thanks and appreciation for the scale house team Jamie, Terry and Karen, as well back office leaders Roger and Sharron.

SMELL HORRIBLE for people to have to live with in the area .I have lived in Sumterville for over 60 yrs and enjoy the outdoors which has become almost impossible to enjoy anymore . I will be filing complaints with anybody and everybody that will listen and hopefully take action for some results . This overwhelming smell is not acceptable

Wanted to change my review to state I've literally lost over 2 entire days of my life (48+ hours) sitting in these lines waiting 1-2+ hours a day since the year started. Hire some competent people! 2.5 hour wait today alone

I'm in the City of Bushnell presently. The stench from the Heart of Florida landfill is horrid, and reaches all the way out here--miles away. It is also unhealthy, especially for people who have heart and lung issues, like a lot of the oldsters nearby me in the 55+ community. Poorly managed to smell this horrid from its core to so far away.

Come here a lot it’s super slow… got here at 7 and it’s 8:06 been wait a hour…. All that I got is a roll off truck… Don’t know why it’s so slow… but it’s not busy it’s like they purposely make it slow to hold everyone up.
