What a lucky find while traveling from Texas! A well curated nature, historical, war relics museum w/ outbuildings. In particular I enjoyed seeing/learning about the Alligator turtle- can bite thru a broom handle!, reading about past physicians- seeing their many tools, past community leaders- without visionaries where would we all be? So be on the lookout for the Grant County Museum Signs, enjoy eating your packed lunch on their parking lot, and enjoy your 1-2 hour visit like we did.

This museum is wonderful, they showcase the history of Grant County, cover WW1 and WW2, and oh my goodness did I mention the old town on the property? It is amazing how much history they packed into a smaller scale area! We've been 2 or 3 times and will definitely be going back!

So much bigger on the inside. A few of Sheridan's dirty little secrets I grew up knowing about. Great place to go on a rainy day.

Not a kid-friendly museum, don't recommend it with children, the lady has nothing better to do than watch you on the cameras, and be passive-aggressive. For everything that had signage and roped off, we followed what was posted, many items have displays inside that you could lift children to see, and she didn't like that either.

We took our grandchildren to the Grant County Museum while they were staying with us during Spring Break. My husband and I enjoyed the visit as much as the children did. It is so much larger and has far more items displayed than we anticipated. What an educational outing for the family. So glad we did not miss this wonderful experience.
