received really blurry scans and almost no details. these are portra 800 35mm.

i needed same day turnaround and was recommended to fromex. to be fair i did drop off the roll at 2:30pm (they close at 5) but even then, very hard to accept this quality when one roll cost $29 to develop/scan.

I've been ordering prints from Fromex since 2021! They were recommended by a family photographer and I never looked back since. Even when I moved to a different state, I would still order from them. Quality and customer service is amazing! On my most recent order, the post office messed up the box that ruined the photos inside and John sent me a new set that came in almost immediately. If you want one of the most professional photo labs and printing locations in Southern California you found it with Fromex. When I was working exclusively with film they were amazing. I could even bring bear film to them and they were able to process it. No problem, you just have to let them know. Their prints are top notch and all my clients always love them. I can't recommend them highly enough. They're so good. They do get busy so make sure that you check in with them about lead times for jobs. But other than that they are a surefire winner when it comes to getting jobs done well and professionally.

Extremely rude and disinterested lady on the phone. Their website shows my 6000x4000 resolution photos blurry so I called to make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong, asked if the site was compressing them. Lady acted like I was an idiot, said the website didn’t do that. I implore you to upload a 6000x4000 photo and tell me what it looks like on the site.

Update: I appreciated John calling me back, but the crux of the issue was that the woman on the phone told me that the blurriness I was describing "didn't happen." The images evidently are compressed on screen as detailed in John's response.

I appreciate John's explanation but I received no apology for his staffer's lack of knowledge or rude tone.

It appears that Fromex might be a good place to print pictures, but after my experience I don't care to find out.

We changed the photos on our family room wall. It was well overdue. We selected photos from past trips and Fromex printed and mounted them on gatorboard. They came out great. It took multiple visits as we decided which photos and how many. Each time, the person we dealt with was friendly, professional, knowledgeable. And our family room looks great. Thank you, Fromex! I loved the service given and the quality scans and developing of my film. The only thing that I found to later be frustrating was that my flash drive didn’t have my files on them. I tried multiple computers and it was not working. I found myself having to search for a place with a CD adapter/port so that I could download the images from the CD to the flash drive which ended up being time consuming.

I live in Salt Lake. I mailed my film on a Wednesday after the post office closed and it was back in my hands by the following Monday afternoon. Basically 2 business days and a weekend. That is FAST! They always send back a postage sticker and order form for the next time. Fromex rules!
