I had my entire home fitted for accordion shutters. The company was very prompt and professional. The install team was excellent and when I needed additional work, their technician, Mike, was simply outstanding. From William in sales, to Adam in service, everyone person I dealt with was very professional.

The price that I received on my hurricane windows was great, and the service I received was excellent before I had finished paying for my windows in full. Once I had finished paying for my windows, it became extremely difficult to the get the company to come out and fix problems that remained. It took three times to finally have the company come out and fix a leak at the bottom of my sliding glass door due to the caulk, and the company flat out stopped communicating with me in regards to a dent in one of my sliding glass doors that was there when they were installed and a defect in one of my windows.

This is the second home that I have had protected by Folding Shutter Corporation. They did a top-notch, professional job from planning to installation. Dealing with Susan (in the office) was also an excellent experience. Companies in this business come and go, but they've been around for years...no wonder with the high quality of their work!

Ultimately, the shutters got installed, which is why they receive any star, but they are untested in a hurricane thus far, and the experience of working with Folding Shutter Corp was absolutely horrible. For such a large expense, there was no concern for customer service at all and no willingness to make any economic concession for what they admitted were their mistakes.
Short synopsis of the experience: Paid deposit (1/2 the cost) in April and was told 16 weeks to install. Contacted them late July to find out when the install was scheduled, and person was rude and said she had no idea - they would contact me. Contacted them first of September (past the 16 weeks), said they were behind but would be in next few weeks. Installed shutters mid-September, but then had to schedule electricians which created further delays. Much back and forth, but Folding Shutters finally admitted that normally they schedule the electricians simultaneous with the install, but someone had dropped the ball and not done so, hence another month to wait for opening in electrician schedule. Couldn't change electricians because permits based on a particular one. When electricians came, they had plenty of bad things to say about working with Folding Shutters. Work finally completed in November, 7 months after initial order.
I spoke to the manager to request some financial disposition for all the trouble, my time spent running down the problems, and their not living up to anything close to the 16 week timeframe - all created by their admitted scheduling error. He refused, had no appreciation for the trouble/time it cost me, talked about how busy they had been (which would mean that they should be able to afford some disposition - not MY problem), and said that he apologized but just couldn't do anything about it. His view, "They work now, so you got what you paid for." Ironically, I was out of town, and when I came into town, one of the shutters actually was NOT working - wouldn't go up. They sent someone 4 days later to fix it under warranty.
I would NEVER do business with these people. They could not care less about customer satisfaction and any type of service levels.

We live on the 5th Floor. We had an excellent Service. The installers were efficient, polite, neat and rapid. The shutters are just fantastic and for the price, after verifying quite a few companies, they were pretty much the best quality versus price.

I definitely recommend this company. Thank you Guys - It was a pleasure.

Horrible experience. William Kramer came to my home to give an estimate for windows. I had also asked him to quote the price of shutters. I have an 1,100 square ft. home with 9 windows to be replaced. While he was measuring the back side he asked me if I wanted to stay under $20,000. I thought it was an odd question because my home is small, and I said yes, of course. He then asked if I wanted to be under $10,000, and I said I would like to. While he was in the front of the house, he told me there could be a lot of damage when the old windows were removed. Another odd comment since he had not even come inside yet. He also said, "you know we have to pull a permit." I said I hope so. He vaguely spoke about different products. He did mention that shutters were always half the price of windows, but that made no sense to me either. While still outside he asked me if there was any chance I would sign a contract that same day. I said no, i had only just started getting estimates. He said thank you and walked to his vehicle and left. I never got a quote. I called Castle and relayed my ridiculous experience to the manager. I felt that William did not feel I would be worth dealing with, because I was not well off and was not going to spend over $20,000. It was a joke and he is a horrible sales person. I feel that since windows are in high demand now, he did not care about me the customer. I have since had a really good experience with another company and a quote just under $10, 000 and 3 windows will be casement. Beware of any high pressure sales people and always get 3 or 4 quotes. I tell everyone this story and always get a few laughs out of it. -Camille D.

Very poor customer service. Send me the wrong shutter, then stood on my driveway arguing with me that because I wanted than to replace this shutter I was not normal . Then their sales rep. Started screaming at me that no other company would offer me a payment plan for a 7000 dollar job Then he tried to make it sound as if I couldn’t pay . At that point I told him to leave . I have made every payment before the due date and only choose the payment plan to make sure I was happy with what I received. I am not happy at all
