Called FPU this morning because propane ran out and no hot water. Linda was able to dispatch truck to deliver propane to my home within an hour. Tech Michael came out and filled, explained reading meter and provided other important information in a very professional and friendly way. So customer service was exceptional. Wish cost of propane was less!

I had services with FPUC for four years. I paid my bill on time. I moved and no longer needed their services. Therefore, I called to disconnect. They emailed me regarding owing me a refund of my deposit. I gave them the forwarding address. They said it would take 4-6 wks. 4 to 6 wks passed and I called back. I gave them the forwarding address again. Again, 4-6 wks passed and no refund. I called back. Same thing. I have called them several times about this. It has been almost 6 months and still no refund because they are incompetent and cannot seem to get the forwarding address correct. I have been told several times that they have made certain the address is entered correctly and will have a check expedited to me. This is very unprofessional and bad business. Why do the customers have to wait 6 months to get money that is owed to them when FPUC will not wait 6 days to get a payment?They will shut off services if a customer does not pay but does not put in any urgency when they owe a customer money. They really deserve NO STARS.

Got a random bill for $158 dollars when my average bill for ten years was between $50-$70 every excuse given to me I debunked easily with common sense the woman I spoke to was extremely rude and short as if I was a bother to her. I asked for proof of the charges she couldn’t she couldn’t give it to me. I asked for an itemized bill, she couldn’t give that to me. I asked for proof of a spike in my use she couldn’t give that to me. If I can’t get this resolved in office I will be contacting all my neighbors and opening a price gouging suit against them. This is ridiculous you can’t just raise my rates $100 for no reason and no this doesn’t have to do with inflation our rates already went up by only $14.

Good to know... If you will open an account with Florida Public Utilities on propane service and will terminate that ( obviously very high cost) you need to pay a 500 fee for removal of an equipment. But there is a waiting time for 2 years when the company is hoping customer will change his mind. So, next time buying a house, if I see propane tank surely this is a RED FLAG for me (ask for a good discount). And usually they can't find a record of you calls or so on. Hope natural gas is much more better.

I called the Lantana office to request gas off in the p.m. and turned back on a few days later in the a.m. I asked the lady to read the work order back to me ......precise! Do you think it happened..... I had to turn it off at the tank because no one showed up! I returned to find the meter locked! I called the after hours number and do you think a long time customer got a return phone call ....NO! Please let's get another alternative other than these people that do not care!

If I had literally any other option for a utility provider- I would choose them. This system is a sham, and never accurate. I have to call almost every month for an explanation or re adjustment of my statement. I am looking into switching every appliance to electric solely so I don’t have to do business with FPU anymore.
