Enphase has some very interesting technology. But after 6+ years of feeling like a beta tester it’s getting old. The contoller goes out (after 5 years)and $2K later the new one throttles my solar output such that it won’t even keep up with the house (have more than plenty of panels). Just feels like they are constantly in test and tweak mode - for a system that cost this (panels, invertors, 3x batteries, generator control unit) would be really nice if they tested this on themselves before dropping buggy products on consumers.

Worst customer service ever!

I have had solar on my roof for over 10 years now. The first generation Enphase inverters did their job and started failing as expected (after 9 years). Lucky for us this was right as they came out with next generation technology. I had all inverters on my roof replaced. 2 days after install 2 of them failed. My installer was received 2 replacements, but Enphase refuses to pay for the labor to have them installed. Due to having a 3 story house next to a public park, this makes the install both dangerous and expensive. Enphase says the the warranty covers replacement parts and that labor is up to the "independent installer".

I am stuck paying double for installation due to their faulty equipment. I have not done research on new solar installs, but if you have options - check them all out before getting stuck with Enphase.

We purchased solar for our short term rental house in Sonoma 2 years ago and have enphase microinverters. I recently got my true- up bill with PG&E and it was 4x what I was expecting. I contacted enphase and reviewed their monthly reporting showing that 5 of the 15 panels have not been producing since January 2021 (9 months ago) and no one reached out or alerted us even though we are sent monthly energy reports. After being on the phone with them for over 1 hour and on chat they had no good explanation other than you should contact us if something is faulty. As a customer, I think it is their job to automatically notify us or the installer if there is an issue. I did get 1 small notification in August email saying there may be a problem. I would avoid their faulty product and terrible system.

Horrible product support: After Hurricane Irma, the California company claimed to have "power line issues" and a second attempt at amicable communication, days later, produced an automated "Goodbye", followed by call terminated. My local installation company even provided me the appropriate site I.D. information -- I simply wanted to know why only twenty-one of my twenty-two panels are producing energy?

The fact that one must grant monitoring access to a private intranet seems a little Orwellian, too.

The Enphase system is designed so that they control the data. You want to switch ownership? Then pay $200 or you can't see the data on the system you bought with a house.

Have installed 2 systems over 7 years. Both performing flawlessly. Can’t wait to see what’s next…but don’t expect Tesla-like innovation.
