We attended the Elberta German Sausage Festival March 30, 2024. Arrived about 10:30 and there was already a long line for food. Waited in line for over an hour before getting to the window to purchase 3 sausages. Found seats at a table and ready to chow down. The sausages were burnt to a crisp. All 3 of them. So I went back to the window and inquired about the burnt sausage. I was told "we sell what they give us". No replacements, No refunds. It's a donation to the fire department. Last time I purchase any.

Thankfully there was a booth selling German food. It was awesome. Expensive day that we will not repeat.

The vendors and wares were diverse and delicious (honey, cupcakes, macarons, etc). The sausage needed sauerkraut, they were 5/10.

We had a good time at the Elberta Sausage Festival. There were quite a few vendors selling food, crafts, arts etc. It was raining but there was still a pretty good turnout. The sausage was a huge disappointment. We stood in line for 20 min and paid $10 for each sausage dog for burned and very dry sausage. Unfortunately we didn't notice until we got home and was ready to eat. At first glance I thought the outside of the sausage was just charred from the grill which would have been fine. I cut mine in half and it was very dry and over cooked. The sausage festival was centered around their secret recipe German Sausage thats only available twice a year and it was a huge disappointment. It was not a complete waste of time because we did have a good time. The best part was the bake sale at St Mark's Lutheran Church. The baked goods were all homemade and absolutely delicious. If you like arts and crafts you will enjoy the festival but do not go for the sausage.

The guy working my line had a ball cap on that read "I'm not old I'm classic". Nope, he was just old. Stood in line for 50 minutes. He served one person while the guy working the next line served four. The sausage was worth the $5.

The sausage festival has to be my favorite festival. The music, the food, most of all the heritage. This festival stays true year after year. There goal is to help there community. There is so much pride in this little town. Humble and small. My dad took me as a child. And will continue to carry the tradition with my children.

Drove from Magnolia Springs to Elberta. Arrived, parked easy, walked up for sausage, no line about 3:20...No sausages!!! All Sold out. Talk about poor planning.
