Iām gonna start by first saying the overall job was very nice. my cabinets are old, greasy overtime and much of the paint were chipping away. So he did a good job Bringing the cabinets alive again by sanding as much as he could, in which I was very happy with. The reason why I gave Doctor Cabinets a three star is because Fabiano the owner, is not a very skilled customer service guy. He is definitely not detailed oriented, nor a perfectionist as he claims he is. I paid over $4400 for painting, the cabinet doors, drawer fronts and the boxes. He promised to come a Day after the job was done, and go over the small little details/things that he needed to fix. Here are some pictures that still need fixing, which couldāve taken him no more than 15 minutes to do, but ignored me and said the only time he has is In 20 days. Even though he lives no more than 10 minutes away from me, for a job that needs to be finished like any other customer, especially after he got payment. If it wasnāt for his character, he wouldāve gotten a five star. he even said to me on the phone that is the job is so small you could do it yourself. lol . Here are some of the problems that Iāve had after the job was done:
1. One Cabinet door was way off aligned to the rest of the cabinet doors. I asked him to come and just re-screw them, which would take him no more than five minutes to do, but he would need assistance from another helper in order to do it properly.
2. When he sprayed the paint on my cabinets, some paint got on my dishwasher. When they cleaned the dishwasher controls, they rubbed the writing text off the Dishwasher control.
3. I have glass windows on top of the cabinets, and when he returned them, there was one missing. His answer was, the very cheap. Itās like 20 bucks. You can get it. He obviously, he broke it.
4. The base of my dishwasher has been spray-painted, he said he would clean it up. He never did.
5. Although the paint is satin, some of the paint dust when he was painting, came on top of the cabinet boxes. He said after the job was going to be done, he would wipe a lot of the dust with some paper and make it look nice and shiny. He never did. Although the cabinet doors look nice, some of them are rough from paint dust
6. There were issues with some caulking in areas of the kitchen, cabinets, crown molding, and corners. He said he would do that only at the end when the job was done, but he never did.
I was going to let the dishwasher problem go, and all the small little details go, other than the cabinet which he had to realign. If you wouldāve just done the cabinet alignment, I wouldāve not cared about the rest. But he chose to be difficult and stubborn. I donāt think he knows determ, customers are always right. Even if theyāre wrong.
Also, normal companies, give customers a day or two to go over everything in case they miss something. He didnāt want to fix anything. He didnāt wanna come back, and frankly, he didnāt care about anything after he got paid.
Overall, the job was good, but couldāve been finished better. His customer service really sucks. One thing that really bugged me a lot was that I was happy with the job with the exception of the touchups that he needed to come by and fix that would take him no more than 15 to 20 minutes tops. He could have just done them properly and make things better, and I would have recommended him to others, but instead, he made a good thing go sour for 15 minutes of his promise to finish his finishing touch. Mind you, I was super nice to him until he said to me that he wonāt be able to come for another 20 days. Maybe being nice to him all the time wasnāt a good thing. Now I have to hire ann person to finish the job.
if you want my opinion, there are good painters for cabinets out there. He is a good painter , but not a perfectionist or detailed oriented.
