Tuesday before thanks giving there was a 20 person line out the door, but they still had what I needed (idk about turkey, order that 1.5 weeks in advance (check the website for the date))
Barely pricier than the grocery store, but you definitely get what you pay for.

I visited the Wurst-Haus yesterday and bought several types of sausage and salami to taste each and decide which would be our favorite for future purchases. After tasting with my family and my daughter’s family, we could not find the best because of only one reason: they all taste fantastic. Not having a favorite made us decide that our future purchases would be the same as the ones we did and that we would add more types of products.
Do not hesitate to visit this shop if you want to taste genuine German wursts and meats.

Dittmer's Gourmet Meats and Wurst Haus in Los Altos is a true gem! Their fresh meats are top-notch, and the beef tongue is a rare find. Plus, the convenience of free parking outside is a bonus. Great selection of different kind of sausages and German products. A must-visit for meat enthusiasts!

Been going on and off for 6+ years. If you live nearby, it's worth checking out for smoked salmon, slab bacon, Austrian and German imports like manner wafers, emeukal throat drops, linden honey, rosehip preserves, etc.
The smoked salmon is nice in that it is very plain, not sugared up like a lot of hot smoked salmon you find. They are nice and meaty. But sometimes you get a bad fishy one now and then (we hot smoke our own sometimes, and this happens when the fish you started out with isn't fresh, or the smoked salmon has been sitting around at fluctuating temps), you just have to check for the best/freshest dates, and hope for the best.
Slab bacon can be streaky or eighty percent pure fat depending on the batch. We prefer lean streaky bacon with more meat, so when bacon is more pure fat, the staff is pretty accommodating and will dig through the pile to select the leaner cuts if you request.
We used to live next to a German butcher Schaller & Weber and this one doesn't quite have the quality and taste in it's meat both cured and fresh, but on the other hand has a lot of packaged imports we like. A lot of meats on display look and smell old, turnover for some things aren't good so use your judgement. For example some weeks pancetta looks plump and beautiful, and cooks up nicely, other times pancetta looks not quite as nice, and on those days it gives off a piggy odor and taste.
Do check expiration dates, we have routinely found snack foods that expired six months ago or more, or are about to expire in a week.

I was able to find blood sausages at this store!!! Yay... I posted a photo of my cooked sausage too lol. They observe a strict social distancing policy and only allow 1 person per household and could be 5 people at a time which is very good!!! I know a lot of people complaining at the line but dont listen to them, theyre just old and grumpy haha. They have plenty or european products and other games like rabbit, boar, elk, duck and venison. Different types of sausages, hams, head cheese and snacks.

I love this place! I have been going here, and the original one on San Antonio road since the 80s. Amazing meats, tons of sausages, and smoked ham hocks and bacon.

Here are some photos of my Dittmer's meats smoked ham hocks slow cooked with pinto beans and some lively corn bread.

Been going here since twenty years, but it has gone downhill in the last year. The meat quality was unacceptable, rouladen were dried out at ends, smoked sausages same. Weisswurst smells old, Teewurst out, Landjäger out, blood sausage out, quark missing, pork roast skin on next week. Zero flexibility on sandwiches. So sad, sad, sad!

Best sausage and german salami. Leberkäse (especially the one that you can cook yoursef - frozen one) is awesome. Small frankfurters, Knockwurst, white bratwurst, weisswurst are our favorites. I also buy ground meat and steak here; flank is very good and good price too. Thank you for staying open with very careful and healthy rules in store to follow.
Prost!
