I have been to Deland Metal Craft 3 times over the years and am extremely happy with their organization, personnel and work. They are really committed to do excellent work at a fair price and are like a breath of fresh air! They made this gate for me and then repaired it after Hurricane Ian dropped a big limb on it. I was fabricating a pipe to bend a mower deck back into shape and I told the man what I wanted. Quickly and easily they cut me the section of pipe that I needed while I waited. Great place ,nice people. They allow you to walk back to a drop pile area to buy left over cuts Bought much steel all reasonable prices. Had 45degree cuts made --low cost . Railing work I see as I pass through the shop is amazing high quality work. Gas bottle exchange is great service too. Today I picked up a cast part I was having trouble welding and they used nickel rod on the TIG and saved the part at a very reasonable cost. It saved my 1920s power hack saw !

Welded up a couple small things on my aluminum trailer within 30min. Also welded a leg back onto my cast iron sump pumps, looked like it never was broken. Always good pricing

I have taken a few projects over. Things I could do easily myself if I had access to their shop. Recently I took something very simple, for a weld repair. I got it back still covered in flaking rust. One of the welds is welded to rust. I can understand that one of the parts was in worse shape than we realized but it is just plate steal so why not replace at least part of it. I could have done this in 20-30 minutes start to finish. This looks like a 2 minute prep jub including the chop saw, and 5 minutes of welding. I provided the materials except for the weld. It looks like trash. THe welds are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. They got $25 out of me and no complaints. My own fault. My expectations were higher because they have very nice gates and such. I will never go back. I have been sending people over there for years, but that is over and I may be steering folks clear. Time to buy a welder. I already have the rest of the tools to do everything I need for the small welding jobs I have. I was OK with the price but I expected an item returned to me that would be functional for another 3 years. I’ll be lucky if this lasts 6 months, then I’m back to buying a new part for $45 (currently out of stock) but also out the $25 I paid to fix this one.
