Wilder killed it! Had an amazing time and he was very knowledgeable and accommodating. First time the kiddos have been deep sea fishing and he catered very well to our knowledge level. Highly recommend- if you're visiting Dauphin Island, this needs to be a staple in your visit!

My family and I are on our first trip to Dauphin Island and I decided I wanted to fulfill a dream of mine to do some off shore fishing. I googled what I could find and luckily enough wound up calling Captain Wilder. After inquiring about prices and when he could get me in, he gave me the info and I told him I would call him if I could go. (Had to check with the wife, of course! ?) she gave me the green light! Before I could even call back Captain Wilder had text me to give me some more info and I was able to confirm with him for the next day!

I arrived at the dock early and was excited for my trip! As we were gearing up to go, the other two people that had been going ended up canceling their trip, so it was gonna just be me on this trip. I felt bad honestly, I didn’t want him to lose money on the trip to just take me. I gave him an out and told him I understood if he needed to cancel or change the trip to another day. He told me that wasn’t going to happen, that we were going fishin’!

And we did!

I had a better time than I could have imagined. I don’t do a good job of fitting in most of the time. Captain Wilder made me feel like we were friends from the start.

We got out on the water, going through the waves on his Fishing Boat Miss Tay, listening to some good rock tunes. I knew I was in for a good day.

I was able to catch some massive Red Fish! I didn’t know what I was doing fighting fish this big and I sure wasn’t ready for it. But Wilder coached me to victory! Getting those fish in was truly one of my favorite experiences with nature. All I knew before this trip was freshwater fishing back home in KY. Y’all better be ready for a fight because these fish WILL beat you if you let em’.

We caught our limit on Red Fish and some good trout. Caught a bunch we let go. We even shared the love and gave another boat a chance to bring in a Red we had hooked up on. That was awesome to see. All the while, Captain Wilder made me feel comfortable on the boat and like we were just buddies out in the water for the day. His customer service was and is above and beyond.

Overall, I would give the experience a 15/10. So much better than I could have expected. I really appreciate Captain Wilder and am glad I got to meet him and go out on his boat for the day. He went above and beyond to make sure I had a great time and put us right on the fish. Wilder knows where the honey holes are, of this you can have no doubt. Take your family out for an experience with Captain Wilder and you will not regret it! Thanks again Wilder for the experience! I will be back soon to run it back!

I booked a fishing charter through Captain Experience for the morning of 3/13/24. I’ll start with the bad. The original charter through captain experience was booked specifically as a sport fisher so there would be cabin space for the kids to get out of the elements in the event of cold or wet weather. The original boat had mechanical problems and had to cancel so captain experience rebooked us, and tacked on a few hundred dollars and on a different boat type, center console (no cabin). Needless to say I wasn’t happy with captain experience. They did work with me a bit on the price, but I’m still not super happy with them.

Now on to the good, our guide Wilder was great. He called me a few days before to go over details. On the morning of the charter he picked us up from the Fort Morgan boat launch with no problems. His communication was great. Once we got out on the water he had some good spots and got us right on the fish. He was very knowledgeable of the area super good with my two boys. The experience with Wilder was the best part of our entire trip and would definitely recommend him to others.

WOW! We went on a dolphin cruise and Wilder had us on a pod first thing! It was amazing! He definitely knows what he’s doing and is extremely personable! The whole family from 3 months to 60s had an absolute blast! Any future dolphin cruises or fishing trips will be booked with him!

Booked a half day private deep sea fishing excursion for 3 guys. Weather was not great but tried to make best of it. We caught a total of 2 fish between the three of us as we spent majority of time trying to stay ahead of storms. The two fish we caught were nice.

Wilder was nice guy and seemed knowledgeable. The boat was not as described on website - smaller with less engines. Weather improved towards end but trip was exactly 4 hours and no wiggle room to extend despite not being able to fish.

Overall I would say it was a bust unfortunately- some due to weather but also with respect to customer satisfaction. I casted 4 times in 4 hours which equated to about $100 per cast for price paid. Again Wilder was nice guy but I'm about results so would have appreciated some more time or consideration with respect to weather and allotted time to actually fish.

Had an awesome time with Captain Wilder! Our entire party of 6 all caught a bunch of fish! We will most definitely do this again! Great time for all of us!!!

Wilder was a great fisherman and an even better person, he makes the experience like you had known him for years. With a minor incident he didn’t hesitate to get it resolved and make sure we still had a great time. He took us to the best spots there was even a time were he had to help us all at once because we had all caught fish at the same time. Overall your family is gonna have a blast when you fish with them!

Awesome experience. Capt. Wilder is very knowledgeable and welcoming. Our group were all experienced anglers so, he put us in a position to catch plenty of quality fish and let us enjoy ourselves. We will definitely be back next year.
