I would never recommend Custom Truss (CT) or working with Josh. Custom Truss & Steve Cury Construction failed to follow permitted plans or architects direction causing disastrous permanent altering truss & roof design defects. Josh is awful, rude, unprofessional, refused to explain or resolve known issues, said I am not the client even though I overpaid the bill per bid, he yelled at me saying I was wasting my time & Josh hung up on me. CT & Cury designed wrong trusses, Cury intentionally installed wrong design trusses, by-passed inspections proceeded with uninspected work out of order, & failed to disclose known mistakes. When Cury ran off, we found abandoned wrong truss plan that was never reviewed, approved or stamped by my Engineer, City, Architect or me. Trusses were not inspected with the roof installed. Permitted plans were ignored resulting in permanent unnacceptable flaws devaluing our home. The only way to fix it is to take off the roof, trusses & start all over again.

Cury should be responsible. CT should also be accountable for not following permitted plans & site meeting rejection notes from Architect. CT's Engineer attended meeting per Architecht & advised Cury & Custom Truss that "they got it wrong". CT & Cury intentionally failed to make corrections, failed to resubmit plans to the Architect & proceeded with wrong trusses. Cury called Architect for help after the fact when the trusses were not working with the design of the house with wrong elevations. Cury never disclosed he ordered & signed off on the wrong trusses. It was obvious there was a problem when our low sloping modern flat looking roof had wrong elevations, peaks, waviness, different thickness profiles & is crooked along with wrong size & material drip edge & defective improperly installed roof that leaks. Cury finally admitted he lied in site meeting, put in writing he would pay for repairs, but instead ran off. Everyone who sees the roof says, who would build something like that, was your contractor licensed, it looks terrible like a mistake! Our architect refers to it as the “goofy looking roof".

After months of begging Cury to fix the roof, he told me, architect, his bad shell contractor, Peace River & put in writing that "he would pay and correct it", but instead, he abandoned the project. Cury said we passed inspections, but I later learned we failed inspections. Per the City, "the trusses do not match our plans.”

Before I obtained control of the property I was in the dark and was not made aware there was a different truss plan. I emailed Custom Truss for assistance with copies of the plans, select snapshots of elevations showing the intent of the roof, photos of what was built & requested if Russ/Josh or the Truss Engineer could walk me through the plans to understand what went wrong & why the trusses failed inspection. I received no response from the Truss Engineer, was finally put in touch with someone by the name of Russ or Josh who was disrespectful & rude. Josh didn’t care that Cury abandoned the project or that the trusses do not match the plan design & failed inspection. My house is listed as the “project” on their truss plan & I overpaid the bill. Josh claimed he gave Cury truss letters & if I wanted copies, I would have to pay him $350.00. Josh would not discuss if the truss letters addressed the difference between what was built compared to the plans & if the letters were to cut the trusses in an attempt to get it per plan & hung up on me. I have sued the GC for building everything not per plan and Cury is suing Custom Truss.

I recently heard Josh left CT & is now with or trying to buy US Truss. I previously interacted with US Truss & people I know liked dealing with them, but now that Josh is there I heard people are complaining, having similar issues that I had with Josh. Quality people make a company and bad people can bring a company down. I only know that I hired Cury as the GC, Cury hired CT who designed wrong trusses that Architect communicated was wrong, Cury & CT signed off on wrong trusses.
