A little slice of heaven! Best fishing spot on the Kenai. Adding the tent in 2024 made Cusacks on the Kenai even more spectacular than it already was. I visit at least once a year and have never been disappointed.

GORGEOUS wedding venue. However terrible expereince with the owners. If you are expecting your deposit back. Dont. The website said fully refundable with a checklist to get the whole thing back and our contract said partially refundable. We asked what it would take to get all or most of our deposit back. We were told "the more you clean, the more you will get back". We followed the checklist on the website to a T, and did much more to ensure we got most back. She tired to give us $200 of a $1000 deposit. It took almost two months to get any of our deposit back even though the contract said to expect it in two weeks. I had to argue for two weeks to get the remaining of our deposit after stating we were only getting $200. The owner was very rude and got nasty with me over text message for requesting more of our deposit back. The only thing that was left to do for the next bride was laundry which we had neatly piled in the center of each bedroom. She stated that "unless crackheads clean the house it costs 800 dollars to clean". I expected to maybe get 100/200 taken out for a cleaning fee, but not 800 when the place was spotless. The hot tub didnt work the entire time we were there. It was leaking on the guests standing under the porch. Water pressure was so lacking that one guest could shower at a time or the water shut off. The fridge also shut off twice. I messaged the owner but they had no fix for either issue. I expected to have a better experience after paying almost 14,000 for a venue. No discount for the issues we had and she also tried to take my entire deposit. Im so sad that I had this experience to look back on after having such a beautiful wedding here. I wish we could return to the place where we started our lives together, but sadly wont get that experience after having the issues we did with the owner.

In response to the owners comments.
1. Yes on social media, I did say my wedding was perfect. Because it was. The marriage to the man I love is perfect no matter the circumstances. However, my experience with you was far from perfect. I am disappointed in your actions. I did thank you on check out because that is kindness.
2. I did receive my deposit on July 19th, which was four weeks after check out. So, yes I may not have argued with you for six weeks, but it was still late by two weeks as promised in our contract. The deposit you are referencing that was "late and short $500" was only late and short because of the lack of communication. I will post the threads below of me asking how much to put down and you answering $1000 instead of $1500. It is not that I asked for any type of discount.
3. The lodge was left in pristine condition. I will post pictures below as well of the screenshot of you saying that the housekeepers mentioned that it was clean.
4. There was a checklist for cleaning that you sent to me and my contract stated nothing about not following the website. I will post the screenshot from the website with how to get your deposit back as well as my contract. No argument here. It doesn't cost $800 to do laundry. I will also attach the photos from when we left. I would have expected a larger refund had things gone smoothly. However, with the hot tub not working the entire stay, we expected some sort of compensation since we were told we would get to use it. That is the right thing to do.
4. I dont think you can say that every communication was kind when you mocked me in our texts and were very difficult to work with. It took calling on other peoples phones so that you did not screen our calls. We would call using our phones with no response. Seconds late would call with another family members or coworkers and you would pick up.

The lies with you just don't seem to stop. I understand you have to respond to this review to save face, but this really shows the lack of character.

We were the DJ’s at a wedding here. Beautiful lodge. The event tent was spacious and amazing. Being right down by the waters edge was such a neat experience.

The owner is lovely and so helpful! She's very responsive and always goes above and beyond to make sure my needs are met. 5/5 would recommend!! Absolutely beautiful place with many accommodations provided for free.

There's a perfect kitchen to make a wedding cake, many beautiful rooms for bridesmaids and groomsmen or family!

This is the most gorgeous wedding venue and we were so lucky to have been able to book ours here. The lodge is amazing and we had a wonderful weekend celebrating with friends and family. Jenny was so kind and helpful, always willing to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend booking your wedding at the Cusack’s!

Cusack’s is a beautiful venue! We got married here on 7/8. The rooms are very comfortable and the lodge is super cozy and was a great place for friends and family to gather. The views are unbeatable. We loved having the tent for our reception. It kept us warm for dinner and dancing. It was fun to be able to fish along the river and hang out in the hot tub. All the staff is friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Cusack’s.

Cusack’s On The kenai was the most perfect Venue we could’ve hoped for. My husband and I had our wedding there on Friday the 13th in October last year, and it was absolutely amazing!! Our main goal after being together 9 1/2 years was to throw a really cool party and show our family and friends who had never seen this beautiful state, a true alaskan experience. This venue is located right on the Kenai River. They have the most beautiful clear tent decorated with lights that was a great ambience for our pictures. The views are amazing. The lodge itself is so incredible and spacious. So many of our guests told us that this was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. I think majority of it was due to the couple getting married 🥰 but a large part of it was due to the venue.
The manager was so great to work with, and the owners as well. I especially love that they had a whole wedding closet with decorations and nearly everything a bride could want to make the day perfect. I would highly recommend this location if you’re looking for a beautiful Alaskan experience wedding.

WOW! I can't say enough good things about this amazing bed & breakfast in Soldotna! We originally booked a 3 night stay and ended up extended because we LOVED it here so much!!! Jenny (owner) is so kind! Her and her staff's hospitality is unmatched! If you're even considering coming to the Kenai, Cusack's need to be at the top of your list! They set us up with all the fishing gear (we bought our fishing licenses online) and even cleaned and help pack our fish so we could ship it back home. Daily breakfast made by Amy was to die for. We will definitely be back and would 10/10 recommend this to all our friends!
