Did a recent recover job with Ceconite and dope on a biplane. Consolidated's color matching between Randolph dope and Randolph enamel color tones for the plane's metal surfaces was quite bad, which only became evident after the enamel paint was purchased and several parts sprayed. Consolidated could not subsequently provide a correct match even with dope test panels sent back to compare and new cans that supposedly were mixed to a "correct" color match. Lots of excuses from their staff. Owner completed the job with finishes from another supplier, but this required significant extra expense, rework, color mixing, and respraying. Beware.

The process is sound and I have been a long time user of this product but the top colors are watered down and unable to cover the poly spray base. Latest paint job required over 13 coats of polytone to even come close to creating a uniform color, requiring 2 gallons per wing on a kitfox. May have to find a different top coat product.
