I was told my order would be ready in 4 months… a month after they received my payment my order still wasn’t updated to reflect my payment. I contacted them and they let me know that since the payment had come in my wife’s name (yea we have the same last name exactly) that they didn’t know whose order it was (despite me listing the order number in the memo field) and they hadn’t even started on it. No apologies, was told I should have followed up sooner.

After that is cleared up three more months pass and I ask that since it has been four months since I placed my order could I get an ETA on the part. They told me again that it was a mistake on my part and that it would be a minimum of two months.

More months pass and still no word either from the Hathaways or the website. I send another email asking for an update and it is ignored. Weeks pass and I send another email that is ignored but the welcome message on the site says they’re not accepting orders because they are so behind. I haven’t gotten an update so I have no idea if they have taken my money and ran or if my order has even been started on. I send one more email saying I need an update (not a complete order mind you… a friggin’ update) or I’d want a refund since at this point they’d had a few hundred bucks of mine for over a year. I was admittedly surprised when I got a self-righteous email back from the owner who said that they had never absconded with a customers money in however long they’d been doing business and that their good customers knew how they operate and were totally fine with this method of business. Reviews say otherwise but anyway after they gaslit me some more telling me how awful of a customer I was and they asked me if I still wanted my order completed. I asked for an ETA which they couldn’t provide and I said hell no.

In summary, I was very patient for almost a year but they will not communicate and if you do have an issue with it they’ll make passive-aggressive comments about how unreasonable you are and their other customers love them so much. Stay away at all costs and just wait for the other makers of better parts restock and email you instead of gambling on these chuckleheads. I finally got a refund almost a year after I paid them by check because they couldn’t even be bothered to refund me electronically. The check came with a polite memo to never do business with me again. They’ll never have the opportunity. I should also include that they tried to charge me a 20% restock fee when I tried to cancel my order despite the fact they exhausted their deadline by months and still couldn’t give me a ship date.

We ordered a part Dec 2021. Our check was cashed in March of 2022. Web site was continually updated that they were running behind on orders so we were patiently waiting. In Nov 2022 we checked again, and they advised the piece had been shipped in august. We were never notified that it had shipped or provided a tracking number. Had they issued that information, an insurance claim with USPS could have been placed. The company has not issued a replacement or a refund. They have $230 dollars and we have nothing. Report has been filed with better business bureau and they so far have failed to reply to even them. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Ordered hundreds of dollars of parts over a year ago and still never received my order. The person I was communicating with regarding my order has stopped offering excuses and has chosen to just ignore my texts.

There's a reason they force you to pay them via Zelle, it's so you can't do a chargeback when they never send you anything.

Put in my order in late October and the product was received mid December and was exactly what was needed. Communication was very fluent via email.

If I Could Leave 0 stars I would. Ordered back in December of 2022 and I still do not have my order. I've been trying to contact them but they refuse to respond. Do not get scammed by this company!

Got my order last week and it was worth the wait! These are well made, sturdy parts and I will post pics when I build them. Thank you all at Coldsteel. Would def recommend.
