Walked into Clay electric this morning (March 25, 2025) and there are 2 women sitting at the front counter. There was a Caucasian lady who was in the middle of assisting another customer and an African-American lady who was not doing anything. The African-American lady looks up at me and quickly looks down and isn’t doing anything. After several minutes, the Caucasian lady finishes up with the customer she is working on and calls me over to assist me. The African-American lady wasn’t doing anything because I glanced at her and look down and she was doing absolutely nothing. She did not pick her head up again until I got to the other Customer Service representative. I am a Caucasian person myself, and I treat everyone with dignity and respect and I would not do that to someone and I do not appreciate it being done to me. I have a very strong feeling that if I was African-American and had walked in, the situation would have turned out quite differently, and she would’ve assisted me. It seems very racially motivated, and I am tired of always seeing in the news where African-American people claim that everything they experience is completely racist, but the news rarely reports on reverse discrimination. And when they do report on it, they will just say something like a male shot another male today in such and such part of town (as an example only). But in the reverse situation, they will say a white person shot a African-American person today which may have been racially motivated.. The news acts like that no African-American person in the entire country is racist whatsoever. And that’s not true at all. There are plenty of decent and kind African-Americans and there are plenty of very racist African-Americans as well. This person at Clay Electric desperately needs some Diversity Training or she needs to not be working there anymore. And we need to start focusing on racism on both sides In this country because it absolutely exist!!!! African-American people always state they want equality And some African-American people do treat all people with equality, but but there are some African-American people who demand equality, but will not treat other people who are Caucasian equally at all and our very racist toward them.

During hurricane Debbie my power went out for nine days. I have a generator so I dealt with it. Crews were working hard to restore power so kudos for that. Where I have a problem is that one of the many trucks that crossed my property to restore power, one of the trucks destroyed the keypad and mount to my electric gate, which I left open for them. After destroying it, someone wrapped it in electrical tape to hold the box together. The unit is covered in high visibility, reflective tape, and is set back from the driveway. Accidents happen, but courtesy would dictate that the guilty party step up and admit their mistake. It will now cost me about $150.00 to replace pluss the time it will take. I expect better. One person can damage an otherwise great reputation.

Had tree removal done recently at my house, apparently something happen with the electrical work underneath….however I do not know the logistics as I was at work as well as my husband whenever it occurred. However Eric Lake city fl district line supervisor came to our door today as a crew was working in the front yard fixing whatever it was. Eric spoke with my husband. He was very unprofessional, had an attitude about the situation after my husband clearly told him he did not know the logistics of everything as he works out of town. Several of my peers have said negative things about him and his professionalism in public service. He also kept bashing the company in which we hired knowing absolutely nothing. As someone who works with the public it is your job to know how to deal with public service especially if ur the district supervisor. Do better Eric ! I hope in future you come a little more humble and find out the logistics verses yelling and saying things you don’t know. I called clay electric this afternoon to let them know about this situation. Troy Adams please give me a call. Thank you.

I see no electric trucks out working on the Columbia county side of high springs. This is unacceptable. The day of hurricane Debby, crews didn’t start working until 4 pm. I can understand that. The high winds lasted until then. But, when they did start working, they had to stop at 10 pm to take a break. Well, that’s understandable, but, why couldn’t you work through the night I know crews have come in from other areas to help out. We may live in the country, but, fyi, we’re just as important as the “major feeder lines” as your recording puts it!! This is an emergency situation. We moved here a few months ago from Alabama where they have a lot more integrity for helping people. Your phone number won’t allow the caller to speak to an actual person, so here you go….

the absolute kings of doing nothing. it would take these guys a week to turn a phone back on because they’d be spending half the time sitting around eating mud and twigs. completely unreliable, unless you’re the kind of person who wants their power to stay off 24/7, in which case they’ll have your back every time. cave dwellers, nocturnal creatures, and other beasts of the night are their best friends, because they can never keep the lights on. honestly pathetic and I wish nothing but neverending despair and disappointment to whoever is in charge there. clay electric makes me want to throw up in my mouth

I'm not sure why it's so easy to put your Community on the back burner. Given that WE host all of the lineman which we are proud to do. But it drains all of the resources(gas, food, water, hotels ect) and No one is complaining but the least that could be done is to attempt to make it look like we're somewhere on the list of priorities given the already difficult situation couple with the fact that we can't even keep the necessary resources to make the situation manageable due to willingly accepting the honor and burden of hosting these wonderful ppl. You should be ashamed. Do better!

Don't call or go to Lake City office if you need help. Best to call the main office. Lake City office wanted me to drive out and get meter numbers from the meters to get my power turned on.
