Biggest crooks of Polk county. My bill was always $50 to $60 a month, family of 4. I’ve lived here 4 years. Since April ‘24 they have been sending outrageous water bills, I’ve had 3 plumbers come out to my house to find a leak, none of them can find a leak. Meter not moving while water is not in use. Talking to them is like talking to a brick wall. They bill you for way more than you actually use. We normally use 4000 but was billed for 36000. How do you even use that much water? When I call for an explanation it’s always a different excuse. Don’t move to a house in lake wales that uses the city water, they will try you.

Be very careful with these people who overnight create a bill for almost 1,000 dollars for you without any cause. You must submit a request for an administrative audit to avoid fraudulent agencies that want to steal from citizens. They have already been reported to Washington and Tallahassee.

I called for issues with my water, and the rep said, “Hold on, dude,” and transferred me to a full Vmail. I tried calling back, but they picked up and hung up.

They need to clean house, the staff that answers the line are very unprofessional and always have an attitude so they have an HR department that reads the reviews? Good for nothing people answering calls I see why so many 1 stars smh

I get I was late for my water bill. Service got shut off and then the next day I paid my balance. I talked to someone about getting my water turned back on since I was up to date with my bill and they told me they will get to it right away. Well guess what!? My water still isn’t turned back on and I have a baby that’s 9 months. No communication what do ever.

I am in the Property Management business and I recently had a lot of dealings with City of Lake wales as we have some type of slab leak going on. I was transfered to Yolanda yesterday for Emergency Service request on the location we manage and she was absolutely wonderful! She was on point with trying to help us get the situation resolved and get our tenants water back on. It takes good people skills in this business and she was super awesome with us.

Twice in 3 years I have been charged excessive usage of water, 30,000 gal, 19,000 gal, 10,000 gal and 16,000 gal amounts. I have no leaks as verified by 2 separate plumbing companies and the city. They took out the meter and examined it, said nothing wrong. I have lived here 14 years and never had a problem until electronic meter was installed. When I complained usage went back to normal both years. Either the meter is corrupted or the water department is. It is computerized so susceptible to hacking or manipulation.

The 2.8 rating says it all..My son and I have only been here less than 2 months after living at same address for 9 years in WH and are already looking to move out of this city..
This list of complete unprofessionalism and no care to help whatsoever can go on and on..
The first place they have to start is the front desk, not a very good impression as the first person that you deal l with..
In saying this after being at city hall on atleast 4 occasions and sending emails to just about ever city government official and still no replies..
No I was not late on any bills and wasn't asking for any financial breaks or anything of that nature..
I feel terrible for those living he that may need some help, I surely don't see you getting that..
To end on a positive note I'm 99% sure her name was Alicia( long curly hair)in the area where you pay new resident deposits WAS OUTSTANDING..
Thats the type of people the city hall staff needs more of..
