I can't express how fantastic my experience was at City Arms! As a first-time gun owner, the entire process was incredibly easy, thanks to the exceptional service from the staff. I was so impressed that I eagerly recommended the store to both my father and a friend, and they were just as delighted with their experiences. Chris was a super cool guy that helped this newbie on his first purchase! Really appreciated the time spent and them staying past 5 pm to do my processing after my firearm safety exam. Everyone else was nice and friendly, especially while in a packed shop. Other customers were also friendly. Definitely recommend to someone looking to buy something for the first time.

The firearm safety exam process was easy. Just bring a PG&E bill. A lot of it is common sense although do read the manual in advance just to be safe.

I made a quick visit here to do some novice "window shopping". I'm taking a class tomorrow and then will be purchasing but wanted to get my eyes on real guns first since I haven't been around them in person and it's all intimidating and confusing to learn so much of this very deep subject. I visited when it was quite busy, and it would have been easy for the staff to ignore me. While I was checking out the cases like Ralphie looking at the Red Rider in the window, Chuck was quick to help without making me feel foolish to be there without knowing too much. He didn't try to push me toward any particular gun that either he likes best or they make the most profit from and he seemed perfectly objective. I'll be back very soon when I figure out what I THINK I want to buy.

I like their selection of firearms, it is very broad for such a small location. They are very well stocked compared to the big box competitor store I also visited recently. I am definitely going to be shopping here in the future! The only thing missing is the firing range!

I see a lot of people complaining here about newby and Covid related issues that probably don’t reflect normal circumstances.

Buying a gun is manly work, not child’s play. Do your homework. Become knowledgeable, watch videos and show these guys you know your stuff. Handle the gun like a boss, give them an offer, buy the gun, and pick it up in 10 days. It’s really that simple.

Their pricing is more than fair (and negotiable) understand this is a mom and pop shop not a big box store that can sell under MSRP.

If your time has any value you will save money shopping here, unlike the 8 hours and 4 trips it can take buying from Sportsmams Warehouse when they mess up your paperwork .
