We did a short stay (Monday- Thursday). We splurged for the patio site. It was a cute site with all we would need. Firewood was decent (not drift wood). The pool was nice (very warm since it was a 100 degrees outside), loved it had a deep end! Would stay again. Still a bit pricey, but better than others we looked at with similar amenities. We stayed to enjoy the Charleston area and it worked out well for us. (Hubby, me our 15 yr old).

This is the place to camp in the Charleston area! The staff were so helpful and friendly especially the maintenance people. I so appreciate all you did for us! The campground is well taken care of. We had the perfect location near the recreation hall that had ac with all kinds of activities the kids really enjoyed. The pool was beautiful and the water temp was perfect. Most sites are spacious with newer picnic tables, plenty of shade from the trees and a good size fire pit. We had to delay our trip and they changed our reservation no problem. Perfect location with various grocery stores and restaurants within 10 minutes. Thank you for the awesome accommodations while we were visiting family so much better than a hotel!

I stayed at this campground for 4 nights. It is clean and well played out. It has a great nature trail to take the doggos for a walk in the shade. The small lake is very pretty. The laundry room was kept very clean and the staff were all very friendly. There are many shaded camp spots, but if you reserve online it might be best to call them and ensure you get a shady spot. The pool was active and looked clean and well cared for. This a a very nice KOA

I was a bit apprehensive about this KOA because of some of the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised! The sites for the bigger rigs are largely not shaded but the area for smaller rigs is wonderful! Lots of trees and shade. Great location and only 2.5 hrs from CLT. Would not hesitate to come back. The staff is wonderful and they have birds in the office.

Okay campground. Easy to get around.
The laundry facilities were not the best.
6 washers-only 3 worked. 7 dryers only 3 worked. Not really the cleanest overall.
At least a dozen cats everywhere.

This KOA is located next to a very run-down mobile home park. The entry to the Kampground is open and not gated. There are cats all over the place. You are greeted by the pool area and sunflowers, which is so beautiful. You are off the highway but not by much, you are near the airport and trains run a lot. Children come in the campground and cause a ruckus and no one from management does anything about it. I had to play cop for the 4 nights I was there. Our site backed up to the big blue water tower and the garbage dumpsite to the right. There is also a large dog park next to the dumpsite area. There are a couple of sites where people are basically "living" in their campers with so many people and not enough room for them. Babies included. They are working on the place but it still is far from KOA quality. Only one bath and shower house and that is in the front by the pool in the original KOA building. I had the window open one night and swear I heard gunshots near the 7-11 that is on the highway in front of where our sight was. We left one day early. Did not feel safe here at all.

It's a reasonable distance from a lot of things in Charleston. It's not a fancy place, nor is it new, it's a serving place to stay if your visiting the area. Office staff is personable friendly and helpful.. did are in good condition for the age of the place, staff takes care of it nicely. It's just not a 5 star resort.. but it's certainly not a dump either!!

We had read some negative reviews about Charleston KOA before we arrived so our expectations were low; however, we were very pleasantly surprised! There is a trailer park next to the campground that looks pretty shabby, but it is not part of the campground and, in fact, you can’t see it from the campground. The staff is friendly and helpful, the campground itself is neat, clean and well maintained. We will definitely return when we are in the Charleston area.
