Atascadero so was called on people trust passing. The police said it’s a shared drive way that’s not true I told them it’s not a shared drive I have 3 no trespassing signs coming up driveway to my house. They did nothing to this person and his friend that he let out to walk around my property. The officers said I need to take them to court this is a civil matter. Terrible service from them and now I have been trying to get the police report and no answer in records for my call then call back and operator is to busy and transfers me back where there’s no answer again. This has been going on for over 3 weeks now

Not really sure why there is a rating for the PD here and I don't think all the reviews are valid. But I felt the need to say that our PD is great and to thank them for their service. I had a scary situation this evening in the crazy winds and they were helpful and kind when they didn't need to be. Including the dispatch person. Had she not been thoughtful and gone the extra mile, we might have had major damage to our property and possibly been physically hurt. All of my other casual encounters with officers and FD have all been very pleasant, saying hello, handing stickers to my kids, etc.

My mother called me from Colorado this morning and was in extreme pain and I had no way of contacting emergency services in her area. I called our 911 and they connected me to the 911 in her area. I'm extremely thankful because it saved my mother's life.

I called the Atascadero Police Department on 9/6/21 to report a dog inside a vehicle on a hot day. It was 102 degrees and the windows were barely cracked. The vehicle was parked in the sun and the owner had been gone for over 10 minutes. The lady I spoke with at the police department told me it’s not illegal to leave your dog in the vehicle… maybe she lacks common sense Last time I checked it is illegal to leave a pet unattended in a motor vehicle under conditions that endanger the health or well-being of the animal under California Penal Code Section 597.7 PC. Atascadero police department is a complete joke.

I was a victim of theft. These officers were professional, thorough, thoughtful and fair. They responded promptly. I am amazed at their teamwork. I will be forever grateful for their help with one of the most frightening experiences of my life.

APD helped kidnap my son! I went to pick him up from his mothers at the court oppointed time and place and was met by 2 “officers” who told me I wasn’t allowed to pick up my son because his mother didn’t want to release him. They KNEW we had a court order and told me to take it up with family court.....what’s the point if they won’t enforce what family court orders?! All this even after letting them know he’s been hurt MULTIPLE times while under her supervision. What a joke!

Night time. A man came into Kenndedy Fitness women's locker, shower room. Atascadero P.D. came. Young woman working closing shift (it is dark outside) had zero confidence it was taken seriously. Said they barely spoke to a girl who'd interacted with the man who invaded our space. Safety concern, to me- clearly not handled well. I was warned by 2 women there... wait, don't shower, etc. Police need to be ON IT totally taking threats to women's safety seriously! I am making my own report now.
