2022- The year new owners kicked out 100+ small fabrication businesses, artists and a local non-profit community center. Claim it's to do "renovations" but actually they'll triple the rent!

No more industrial arts, no artisan businesses, no investment in the local community.

You can expect a wave of industrial tech to take over West Oakland!

Don't bother complaining to City Officials. They invited and catered to the real estate acquisition companies.

American Steel used to be a rare space for local art and industry, however the new owners kicked everyone out gentrifying it way outside the range of the people that made it great.

American Steel is just a space, but it’s a perfect space to house your dreams, plans, hopes, and giant art cars. Also your burning man camp, your welding startup, and your free-running consortium. Also your craft space, your art commune, and your thrash-metal band that’s going places. I’m sure you could even put a law firm in there if you were crazy hip and awesome. It’s a perfect space. All that’s missing is your ideas. So there.
